NONGLARE HEADLIGHT Filed Jan. 11, 1928 gwumkoz mar-lw'd fqa Patented Dec. 24, 1929 UNE'E'EQ @TATES PATENT cert-er.
CHARLES ALBERT HAAS, OF REDWOOD CITY, CALIFORNIA, ASSIG-NOR T0 HAAS NON- GLARE HEADLIGHT COMPANY, OF SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA, A CORPORATION OF CALIFORNIA NONGLARE HEADLIGHT Application filed. January 11, 1928.
This invention relates to improvements in nonglare headlights, and the object of the invention is to provide means in the headlight to receive the full reflected light from a light globe concealed from view.
Another object is to provide a headlight of simple construction and of neat appearance.
Other objects of the invention will be ap-- parent as the description proceeds.
An embodiment of the invention is shown in the accompanying drawings in which the same reference numeral is applied to the same portion throughout the several figures of the drawings and of which there may be modiflcations.
Figure 1 is a side elevation of the headlight partly in section, and
Figure 2 is a front elevation of the same.
The numeral 1 indicates a reflector of suitable shape fixed in the back of the casing 2 which is somewhat tapered as shown. In the top of the casing is an opening 3 over which is the reflector 4 having the lamp globe 5 held in the socket 6 fixed to the reflector.
This lamp and reflector are so positioned as to have the light rays fall on the reflector 1 and be reflected out through the lens 7 which is lined to the casing in the usual way. The numeral 8 indicates the outer casing or drum, and 9 indicates the lamp cord which may eX- tend back to a source of electricity.
Having thus described my invention, what I desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States is as follows, but modifications may be made in carrying out the invention as shown in the drawings and in the above particularly described form thereof, within the purview of the annexed claim:
A nonglare headlight comprising cylindrical inner and outer casings, said outer casing set eccentric to said inner casing, said inner casing having a small end, and a larger end, a reflector in said small end, a lens in the larger end, an opening in the wall of said inner casing into the space formed by the ec centric setting of said casings, a reflector set over said opening at an angle to focus on the center of said first reflector, an electric lamp in said second reflector, and said second reflector being between the walls in the space Serial No. 2463062.
