My invention relates to stoves and particularly to'a body of a stove and the method of attaching a leg thereto.
Itismy object to provide a quickly attached and detached construction which facilitates assembly and disassembly and great conven ience in shipping.

' Referring to the drawings in detail, 1 is a hollow leg having angular side walls, the outer portion of which is bulged as at 2. The upper portion of this leg is provided with an inwardly extending shoulder 3 that has angular extensions 4. On this angular platform is an angular, upwardly projecting shoulder 5 having an inwardly and downwardly tapered surface 6. This shoulder 5 projects upwardly through an opening 7 which the tapered outer wall 6 overlaps on its outer margin, so thatthis tapered wall 6 can come in engagement with the upstanding corner plate wall 8, the horizontal portion9 of which is provided with the opening 7.
This corner plate is connected by bolts 10 to the angle irons 11 forming the body of the stove. The vertical wall 12 of this angle iron frame is continuous around the corner but the horizontal portion of this angle iron is cut away at the corner so as to receive the upwardly projecting shoulder 5 of the leg. The upwardly projecting portion 12 of the frame engages with the outer wall and the upwardly projecting portion 8 on the corner plate.
A locking screw lug 13 is mounted on the horizontal portion 9 of the corner plate carrying the locking screw 14, the inner end 15 of which engages in a recess 16 in the leg lug 5. This forces the tapered surface 6 against the a detailed side elevation of 1929. Serial No. 352,574.

Between the shoulder 3 and lateral extensions 4 of the leg is clamped the sheet metal body of the stove or range designated 17 Thus it is possible to lock the leg, the corner reinforcement such as the corner plate, the angular frame of the stove, and the body of the stove together in one integral unit by a single set-screw.
It will be understood that I desire to comprehend within the scope of my invention all the modifications necessary to adapt it to varying conditions and uses.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to protect by Letters Patent, is r 1. In combination in a stove of a leg, a stove 1 frame, a corner plate, a lug projecting through said corner pate and clamping means clamping said lug and corner plate to one another, said plate and frame resting on the leg.
2. In combination in a stove, a leg having a shoulder, a lug upstanding therefrom inwardly of the outer portion of the leg, a cor ner plate mounted on said shoulder having an aperture through which the lug is projected, the outer wall of the lug engaging the inner .wall of the corner plate, and a stove frame attached to said corner plate.
3. In combination in a stove, a leg'having a shoulder, a lug upstanding therefrom inwardly of the outer portion of the leg, a corner plate mounted on said shoulder having an aperture through which the lug is projected, the outer wall of the lug engaging the inner wall of the corner plate, a stove frame attached to said corner plate, said frame having a portion thereof cutaway to accommodate said lug, and another portion adapted to pass outside of the lug and corner plate, and means of locking said corner plate and lug together,
whereby the lug of the leg is clamped between the frame and corner plate on one side and the locking means of the corner plate on the other side.
4. In a stove, an angular frame consisting of a vertical and horizontal portion extending continuously around the corner of the stove, a portion of the horizontal portion being cut away at the corner, a corner plate having a horizontal and vertical portion, the ends v of the horizontal portion overlapping the ends of the horizontal portions of the frame, and the vertical portion fitting within the corner of the vertical portion of the frame, said corner plate having an angular aperture adjacent the inner wall of the vertical portion of the corner plate, a leg adapted to support the frame and corner plate, a lug on said leg projecting through the aperture of the corner plate and locking means on the corner plate for engaging said lug on one side while the vertical wall of the corner plate engages the lug on the other side. 7

In a stove, an angular frame consisting of a vertical and horizontal portion extending continuously around the corner of the stove, a portion of the horizontal portion being cut away at the corner, a corner plate having a horizontal and vertical portion, the ends of the horizontal portion overlapping the ends of the horizontal portions of the frame, and the vertical portion fitting within the corner of the vertical port-ion of the frame, said corner plate having an angular aperture adjacent the inner wall of the vertical portion of the corner plate, a leg adapted to support the frame and corner plate, a lug on said leg projecting through the aperture of the corner plate, locking means on the corner platefor engaging said lug on one side while the vertical wall of the corner plate engages the lug on the other side, the engaging face of said lug being tapered inwardly and downwardly. v 6. In a stove, an angular frame consisting of a vertical-and horizontal portion extending continuously around the corner of the stove, a portion of the horizontal portion being cut away at the corner, a corner plate having a horizontal and vertical portion, the ends of the horizontal portion overlapping the ends of the horizontal portions of the frame, and the vertical portion fitting within the corner of the vertical portion of the frame, said corner plate having an angular aperture adjacent the inner Wall of the vertical por tion of the corner plate, a leg adapted to support the frame and corner plate, a lug on said leg projecting through the aperture of the corner plate, locking means on the corner plate for engaging said lug on one side while the vertical wall of the corner plate engages the'lug on the other side, the engaging face of said lug being tapered inwardly and down wardly, said aperture in the corner plate being somewhat larger than the lug.
7. In a stove, an angular frame consisting of a vertical and horizontal portion extending continuously around the corner of the stove, a portion of the horizontal portion'being cut away at the corner, a corner plate having a horizontal and verticalportion, the
ends of the horizontal portion overlapping the ends of the horizontal portions of the frame, and the vertical portion fitting within the corner of the vertical portion of the frame, said corner plate having an angular aperture adjacent the inner wall of the Vertical portion of the corner plate, a leg adapted to support theframe and corner plate, a lug on said leg projecting through the aperture of the corner plate and locking means onthe corner plate for engaging'said lug "on one side while the vertical wall of the corner plate engages the lug on the other side, a body mounted on said frame, a portion thereof extending between the vertical frame member and the top of the leg, clamping therebetween.
8. In a stove, a leg having an inwardly disposed, upstanding lug, a stove frame cut away. in the corner to receive said lug within its corner, a corner plate carried by the frame for engaging the lug, and locking means on the corner plate for locking the lug to it and the frame. 7.

In a stove, an angular hollow leg having an upper inwardly extending shoulder and a vertically'vextending angular lug, an angular frame for said stove adapted to rest on said shoulder, said frame being cut away to recelve the lug, an angular corner plate havlngits vertical wall engaging the vertical wall of the frame and its horizontal wall bolted to the pered head adapted to engage a tapered aper:
