The invention has 'for object to provide an exhaust rotary valve 'tor internal combustion engines and of the known type in. which the exhaust gases are allowed to enter a central tube oit tl e rotary valve and to escape "from the said tube through a Venturi device in order to suele 'tresh air between the central tube and 'the external wall of the valve tor cooling` the same.
ln valves oit this type provided up to now, the unequal expansion of the external Wall, which is the coldest, and olf the central (tube umich the hottest, produces distortion oit the Whole and consequently the jamming;` of the valve in its bearing.
fr main object of the invention is 'to remedy this inconvenience by securing: Within the valve the central. tube in such a manner that the danses which connect the latter with the ports irovided in the said valve have no Contact with the same,

As above stated the central tube 8 of the exhaust valve being` alvvays sensibly hotter than the outer Wall 3a, a distortion oi 'the latter may result therefrom which is prejudicious to the Working; seizings can in fact taire place which prevent the free rotation oi the valve in its housing,` in the cylinder head.

A remarkable particularity oi' this ai" rangement consists iu that the flanges 5 do not touch, by their tree end, the sleeve 3, so that these lianges, moreover immersed in the cold air stream, cannot act by expansion on the sleeve 3 always maintained at a relatively low temperature. W hat l claim as my invention and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
l. ln an improved exhaust rotary valve comprising an outer Wall or sleeve with exhaust ports and a central tube open at one end tor allowingexhaust gases to escape, an outer sleeve open at its tvvo ends, a central tube open at one end which is in the shape of a converging nozzle, external llangres surrounding ports in the said tube, sleeves at each end ot the latter and litting in bearings of the outer sleeve of the valve, spiders ilor connecting the central tube to the said sleeves in such a manner that the outer edge of the lianges have .no contact with the outer sleeve of the valve.
2. ln an improved exhaust rotary valve .Y ned in claim l, a bottom member las tened in the air inlet end of the central tube ttor closing,` the saine and cooled by air passing through orifices provided at the rear part or the said tube, the sleeve which supports the liront end oit the tube having, in the region of its spiders which connect it with the said tube, no Contact with the outer wall or sleeve et the valve.
