In the grounding of electric circuts a damp connection is superior and pre l erable to a dry connection. There'fore the present invention ains to provide means whereby a ground connection may be maintained in a damp condition so as to obtain the best possible results, particularly in the grounding of radio frequeney circuits.
While the drawing illustrates a preferred enbodiment of the invention, it is to be understood that in adapting the means to meet specific needs and requirements, the design may be varied and such other changes in the ninor details of the invention as claimed, without departing from the spirit thereof.
For a full understanding of the invention and the nerits thereof, reference is to be had to the following description and the drawing hereto attached, in which Figure l is an elevational View of a grounding strip of sheet metal having marginal portions separated by inclined outs.
Figure 2 is a sectional View of the device, the grounding strip being disposed to present its edge.
Figur-e 3 is a horizontal sectional View on the line 3-3 of Figure 2.
Figure 4 is a detail View of portion of the device and the clamp whereby it may be attached to a water pipe.
Figure 5 is an end view of the clamp as applied to a water pipe, the latter being in section.
Corresponding and like parts are referred to in the following description and designated in the several views of the drawing by like reference characters.
The numeral 1 denotes a strip of sheet metal which may be of any lengtl' and Width. An end portion of the sheet metal strip 1 is reduced as ndicated at 2 to provide a projecting part for the attachment thereto ofthe wire to be grounded.
Slits or outs 3 are formed in opposite marginal edges of the strip l and incline inwardly and downwardly from the edgesof the strip. In the preferable arrangement the slits or cuts in opposite edge portions of the strip coincide and are reversely inclined. The part s separated by the inclined cuts 3 form tongues 4: which are bent laterally, the tongues along one edge being bent in the same direction and opposite to the tongues along the other edge of the strip. A plate 6 is shown closing one end of the tube and an opening is formed therein in which .is litted a plug 7. A suitable fitting 8 is applied to the opposite or lower ends of the tube 5 and may be connected to a water pipe or fixture in any determinate way.

For conneeting the device to a Water pipe a clanp has been devised and compriscs similar parts 9 and 10 which are shaped to fit about a pipe 11 as indicated most clearly in Figur-e 5 of the drawing. When connecting the device to a radiator or other fixture a suitable fitting may be coupled to the part 8 to admit of the device occupying a vertical position when connected to the fixture or part to which it is applied.

aving thus described the invention, I claim 1. An electric grounding device comprising a metal strip provided along opposite edges with tongues which form contact elements.

4. An electrie grounding deviee including a czsing adapted to contain water and a strip thcrein immersed in the water and provided with a plurality of points eleetrically connected with the inner wall of the casing.
5. An electric grounding deviee eomprising a closed casing and a grounding member therein provided with a plurality of points electrieally engaging the inner wall of the casing the letter adzipted to receive water to insure a damp connection.

7.
