The invention relates to'air pumps used tor inflating automobile tires, and tor other purposes, and has for its principal object the provision of means by which operation of the pump by hand may be dispensed with, and
consists in the provision of means for operation of the pump piston by foot power.
A further object of the invention is the provision of an attachment for air pumps providing means for operation-0t the pump by foot power, the attachment being collapsible so that the pump and operating mechanism may be conveniently transported and stored. 1 I

The delivery tube for the air comprises a flexible tubular member 32 having a conventional delivery nozzle 33 secured thereto at one end and a V-shapedtubular member 34 engaged at its other end with flexible tubes 35 secured to the arms of the member 34 and adapted to be connected with the delivery nozzles of the pumps as shown.

An air pump operating device, comprising an arm adapted to be secured to the piston rod of an air pump, a rod adjustable in relation to thepump, a plunger secured to said-arm, resilient means connecting said rod and plunger to raise the plunger, and meanslto actuate the plunger against said resilient means.

An airpump operating device, comprising a base adapted to support an air pump, a tubular member supported on the base, a rod slidably mounted in saidtubular member, a sprmg terminallyv engaging said rod and tubular member to hold the rod in lowered position, an arm secured to the piston rod. of the air pump, ,a plunger secured to said arm, resilient means connecting said rod and-plunger to normally raise the plunger, and a pedal secured to said plunger for actuating it againstthe resistance ofsaid resilient means. An air pump operating device, comprisinga base adapted to support an air pump, a tubular member supported 011 the base, a tubular rod slidably mounted in said tubu lar member, a spring terminally engaging the tubular member and the tubular rod, means to hold said rod in extended position relatively to the tubular member and against the. resistance of said spring, an arm secured to the piston rod of the air pump, a plunger sec red to said arm, aspring terminally engaging the rod and plunger to normally raise it, a .pedal secured to the plunger to actuate it against said spring, and guide means secured to said plunger and slidably engaging the rod and tubular member.
