This invention relates to `a sectional, takedown metal form yor mold for use in setting up concrete pillars, columns, and the like.
An object of the invention is toprovide a metal form or mold which may be used over and over, and which may be set up in such a manner as to save time and labor as compared to Wooden and other types of forms.
Another obj ect of the invention is to provide a metallic concrete form that may readily be adjusted to occupy slightly greater or lesser dimensions to facilitate the building of concrete pillarsfor columns of different dimensions without the necessity of providing specialy forms therefor.
The invention further contemplates a form that will be strong and durable. Convenience of arrangementofparts, lightness, strength and inexpense of manufacture are `further desiderata that have been borne in mind in the production and `development of this invention.
l/Vith these and other objects in view, which will more readily appear as the nature of the invention is better' understood, the same consists in the novel construction,.combina tion and arrangement of parts which Will hereinafter vbe more fully described, illustrated and claimed.
The essential features of the invention involved in the carrying out .ofthe yobjects indicated are susceptible to modification, but a preferred embodiment yof the invention is shown in the accompanying drawings, in which: y

Eachconcretepillar or column that iscconstructed involves in its general mold organiza! tion, a pluralityk of superimposed forms 10. Referring to Figs. 1, :2, `3, 4 andvG, each/of these forms comprises a pluralityof angularly disposed channel pieces 11 having flanges 12 and lalong the longitudinal edges thereof. Each corner fasteningplateis comprisedofa rtriangular strip `of sheet material, having a row of bolt holes 1G extending along an edge 17y thereof, and a plurality of rows of bolt n holes 18 and 19 extending along `any edge k2O thereof. Suitable bolts 21serve to hol-d ythe parts in assembled position. f Eachk form,
when.' assembled, forms a compact, unitary symmetricalmold nnit'that is Well adapted i t0 perform the services rcquiredof it.
It is to beparticularly noted that in Figs. 1, 2, 3 and 4, the' angular` corner fastening plates 15 each have the edge 2()` thereof slightly projected lbeyond the Aplane ofthe channel pieces 11. This is accomplished `by employing the bolt holes 18 in connecting the corner fastening plates tothe flanges 12 and 13. InFig. 6, a different adjustment is obtained by using'the bolt holes 19 in place of ythe holes 18. It will be seen that when the holes 19 are utilized the edge 20 of the cornerA fastening plates lie substantiallyV flush with the plane of the channel pieces 11, and a slightly smaller form is obtained.
In Fig.2, the channel vpiecesare reversed to bring the beveled ends 25 ofthe flanges and the angularly extending' lip 25 into position so that said lip abuts against themediate portion of its companion channel piece. This beveled end facilitatesthe formation of octagonalfforms as will be later described, and whenfused to provide a square forni as shown in I*`ig'..2,- provides a beveledcorner on the finishedstructure. The f angularly extending lip 25 serves toieiiiforce the channel meinber as doesthe flange la, and prevents Abuckling of the form members. f
Y These bevelededges may be'utilized inthe preferred construction to obtain a different adjustment of the partsif desired. By ie vei-sing the channel pieces-sok that these beveled edges abutk against the medial portions, a slight-ly diderent adjustment kis obtained.
.In the modified form of the invention .wherein a polygonal or around pillar or post isy obtainethtlie beveled edges are a necessarv part of the construction. In this n forni ofuthe invention the channelpieces 11 are arrangedat an angle to each other with the vbeveled edges 25 abutting Vagainst they medial portion of adjacentpieces to constitute a polygonal shaped form. In order to insure thek proper adjustment and attachment of the channel Pieces to each other, the corner Vfasteningsl are securedalong the ac'uteedges ofthe same to the flanges 12 and rthe following claims. VHence I do' not Vde-V sire to limit my invention to theV eXactarrangements andcombinations of the said device and parts as described in the above specification, nor do I conne'myself to the exact details of the constructions illustrated in the said drawings. Only in so far as I have parrticularlyV pointed out my inventionrin the f appended claims do I desire to limit myself.
I claim n I n 1. A metal form forV use in erecting'concrete structures,'comprising a plurality of channelr shaped metal form members far-Y ranged so as to engage one another, the flanges of said form members having openings therein, a plurality of fastening plates adapted to overlie ther flanges of said members where said members abut one another, which fasten ing plates are provided with openings adapted to register with openings in the flanges, and detachable fastening elements inserted through certain aligned openings of said flanges and plates, said plates having a plurality of rows of openings, the openings of either rows of which being adapted to register with the openings in the flanges.

A forni for 'use in setting up concrete structures comprising a plurality of metallic channel shaped forni lmembers adapted to engagewith one another and each `having in the vflanges thereof'a plurality of openings, each of said channel members having angularly extendingvertical lflanges at the ends thereof, the khorizontal flanges of thel channel pieces being'beveled at certain ends of the channel pieces, attaching plates having openings therein adapted to register with the openings in the fianges, and fastening elements. inserted through the registering openings of the flanges and plates to hold the form members together. A form for .use in setting up. concrete structures comprising a plurality of channel shaped form members arranged in upright position in substanatially the same hori- Zontalr plane, with one end of each channel member abutting another of the channel mem bers at a point between the ends of the second named channel members to thereby provide a substantially square or rectangular mold, said channel members having rows ot openings in the iianges thereof, a plurality oit attaching plates engaging the ianges on upper and lower sides of the form members at the points where the said members engage one another, which attaching f platee are provided with singularly related .rows of openings adapted to register with openings in the `llanges, certain edges of the attaching plates being substantially flush with the mold faces of the form members, and removable fastening elen ments inserted through certain registering openings of the plates and flanges ttor secur-' a point between the ends of the secondnamed channel members to therebyrprovide a sub-r stantially square or rectangular mold, said plates'engaging the -flanges on upper and ylower sides ot the form membersat the points f,
