Description
June 11, 1929. c MOTTAYAW 1,717,060
TIME CHART Filed Sept. 2, 1926 'Patented June 11, 1929.
UNITED STATES MARY c. MOTTAYAW, or MANSFIELD, 0310.
TIME CHART.
Application filed September 2, 1926. Serial No. 133,199.
The present invention relates to a time chart and aims to provide a novel and improved device of this character for use in connection with determining the proper time to give medicine to a patient, said chart being so arranged that medicine for the en'- tire day may be laid out so as to be'absolutely sure of giving it correctly and the doctor attending the patient can tell at a glance whether or not his directions are being properly followed. a
Another object of the invention is to provide a time chart arranged in tray shape formation so as to permit the same-to be easily carried, thus permitting a person attending a patient to carry the same with him while attending to other work, said tray having arranged on the face thereof numbers similar to the dial of a watch or clock and at each number a small depression for receiving and supporting the medicine to be taken at that particular hour.
A further object of the invention is the provision of a tray having a clock or watch dial and medicine receiving depressions thereon and a central portion upon which a clock or watch may be placed with the dial up so that the hands on the clock or watch may be read with respect to the dial on the chart, thus permitting even a child who is not thoroughly familiar with telling time to give medicine correctly.
It is also an object of the invention to provide a time chart of the above indicated character, which is extremely simple in construction, which can be manufactured and sold at a small price and therefore being inexpensive may be discarded for a new one at any time, and which will be thoroughly cfiicient and practical in use.
With the foregoing and other objects in view, which will be apparent as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the construction and arrangement of parts, as hereinafter described and claimed, it being understoodthat changes can be made within the scope of what is claimed, without departing from the spirit of the invention.
The invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawing, wherein:
Figure 1 is a top plan of my improved chart, showing a watch arranged thereon, and
Figure 2 is a section taken on line 22 of Figure 1.
The central portion of the plate or tray 10 is provided with a relatively large depression for receiving a watch or clock. such as that designated by the numeral 13. When placing a watch 14 in the depression 13, the same is arranged face up with the numeral 12 on the watch or clock corresponding with the numeral 12 on. the dial whereby the hands of the watch or clock may be read with respect to the dial on the tray, thus indicating beyond any doubt what medicine is to be taken at a particular hour.
In the drawing I have indicated various kinds of medicine to be taken at various times, for instance in the depressions 12 opposite thenumerals 12, 5, and 7, are pills 15 indicated by horizontal cross hatching which are to be taken at mealtimes. In the depressions opposite the numerals 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11 are pills 16, indicated by dotted cross lines which are to be taken every two hours. In the depressions 12 opposite the numerals 2, 6, and 10, are three small pills 17 which are to be taken every four hours. As a further illustration of the use of the chart the depression opposite the numeral 10 may also contain a relatively large pill 18 indicated by diagonal dotted cross lines to be taken at bedtime. From the foregoing, it can beseen that the chart may be used for indicating the periods of time for taking tour diiferent kmds or medicine and so that the danger of taking the Wrong medicine 13 prevented. I
\Vhen using the chart, a person may place the proper pills in the proper receptacles the first part of the day and by referring to the chart at various times can tell at a glance whlch medicine 1s to be taken. Also adoc 7 large dial having large numerals thereon a small Watch WlllCh makes very llttle noise while running can be used and positioned rso'rthat the dial thereof will correspond With-the numerals on the dial of the chart, and by having the hands of the Watch supplied with radium the time can be read on the larger dial in a room Where the light is dim. r 1 p Having described my invention what I claim as new is:
1;A time chartarranged' in tray shape formation, a dial arranged on said tray with numerals similar to the numerals on a Watch or clock, said tray having depressions arranged therein adjacent each number for receiving medicine. 2. A time chart arranged in tray shape "formation, a dial. arranged on said tray with. numerals similar .to the numerals on a watch or clock, said trayha-ving depressions arranged therein adjacent each-number for receiving medicine, the surface. of the tray at the center of the dial being arranged so that'a Watch or clock may be placed thereon in order that the hands on the Watch or clock may be read with respect to the numerals on the dial. i Y
In testimonywhereof, I have afiixed my signature.
" MARY e. MOTTAYAW.
