Hydrostatic weir shutters usually require, owing` to the considerable lateral eX- tension of the flaps as compared with the vertical adjiistability of the shutter7 a very wide and costly substructure.
The object of the present invention is to produce a hydrostatic weir shutter wherein the lateral extension o't Jthe iiaps but little exceeds the vertical adjiistability of the shutter7 and the invention consi.V in the provision of two hingedly connected shutter plates supported like a root structure on two horizontally hinged 'flaps turned in opposite directions and located in hydrostatic chambers.
The accompanying drawing repipeeiits a Cross-section of the weii' and shows the shutter in fully extended position.
The substructure 8 is ioriiied 'with two hydrostatic chambers 7 and 7 which can each be connected through channels 9 and 9 respectively and by means of the usual controlling` devices, either with the high or with the low water.
