Preferably 25 inexpensively made up in any particular dethe back, not shown, is formedin the same sign selected by the purchaser.
Other objects and advantages will be apparent during the course of the following description.
In the accompanying drawings in wh ch like numerals are employed to designate llke parts throughout the same,
I Figure 1 is a perspective view of an article of furniture constructed in accordance with this invention.
Figure 2 is a fragmentary central horizontal section through the embodiment shown in Figure 1.
.Figure 3 is a detailed view in perspective of one of the doors.
In the drawings wherein for the purpose of illustration is shown an embodiment of the invention, the numeral 1 designates generally the body portion of the article of furniture, which is formed with a bottom 2, supported adjacent the corners thereof by the legs 3. Supported on the bottom 2 1s a skeleton frame or support indicated generally at 4, which may be of any suitable construction. The body portion 1 is formed of a plurality of panel members, which will be hereinafter more particularly described, and which are supported by the bottom 2 and the support 4.
The ends of the body portion 1 are of iden manner, in order that the article may have an attractive appearance, without the necessity of placing the back thereof against a wall.
The front of the body portion 1 is formed of a pair of doors 13 and 14, each ofwhich includes a panel frame 15 similar to the frame 6. Secured to the panel frame 15 of the door 14 is an outer or facing frame 18, which is connected by means of hinges 16 to a facing strip 20 secured to a side edge of the frame 6. The facing frame 10 is seated against the outer edge of the facing strip 20 and the latter has its outer face flush with the outer face of the facing frame 18 and with a side edge of the facing frame 10. Then the doors 13 and 14 are in closed position the panel frames 15 abut a partition 17 extending transversely of the body portion 1 and also abut the skeleton support 4. In this position, each of the panel frames 15 further abuts an end frame 6. Secured to the panel frame of the door 14 is a batten 19 which projects from the inner end of such door into overlapping relation with the panel frame of the door 13. Spaced from the inner ends of the doors are suitable handle members 21 which preferably are formed of twisted cord. The edges 22 of the bottom 2, as well as the outer faces of the facing frames ,10, which has its outer face as at 11 rabbeted 18, facing strips 20, and batten 19 are rabl'ieted to conform in appearance With the outer faces of the facing frames 10.
As may readily be seen, if it is desired to change the design ofthe article of furniture herein described, this may be accomplished by removing theouter frames, as 18 and 10, and similar pieces of fabric, but of different design, substituted for the fabric 9.
It will also be readily seen that a panel is formed of each piece of fabric 9, due to its inset position relative to its corresponding outer frame.
It is to be understood that the form of the invention herewith shown and described is to be taken as the preferred example of the same, and that various changes in the size, shape and arrangement of parts may be resorted to Without departing from the spirit of the invention or the scope of the appended claims.
