The casting 6 has a central openin 7 8. Sgaid therein to receive an upright pin pm is supported within a bracket 9 bolted to the flange 10 of the crank case. This mount ing furnishes an extremely ri'id and vhrm attachment at a point spaced forwardly from the drive wheels 11 of the tractor.

At the upper edge-of the scraper 1s a rod 35 supported at each end in brackets 36 upon the plate. Upon this rod are slidably mounted two sleeves 37 which have ears 38- thereon pivotally connected to the forward ends of arms 40. Said arms 40 extend rearwardly and are connected to the yoke 15 at any one of a ,plurality of openings 41', thus furnishing a support for the upper side of The support arms are made in two telescoping sections 40 and 40 similar to the push rods 3. In operation, the scraper Vwill most frequently be extended transversely at approximately a right angle to the line of travel, as shown in full lines in Fig. 3. The bearing blocks 31 will be locked in the proer position to support the scraper plate at t at angle. This w1ll be accomplished by dropping thellatching dogs 34 lnto any selected one ofthe notches 32, in the manner shown in Fig. 2. The connecting arms 40 may be adjusted in any one of the o enin s 41 so as to tilt the scraper plate at t e deslred angle and ordinarily the position will be approximately erect, as shown in Fig. 1.
lIn filling earth into ditches and trenches, as is necessary in the laying of pipelines and the like, the lever 25 will be withdrawn toward the operator so as to raise the scraper o'f the ground and the tractor will then be backed up so as to bring the scraper against the wall of earth which is to be moved `into the ditch. The operator will then drop the scraper to the proper position to engage the bank of earth and the tractor will be advanced so as to push the earth into the ditch or excavation which is to be filled. This operation will be repeated until the earth has been entirely lled into the ditch.
' When the device is to be used in scraping moreI to one side of the path of the tractor. This inclining or tiltin of the scraper may be done by removing t e pin 27 on the bar which is to be len thened and advancing the rod 12 from within the bar so as toengage the pin within one of the other openings 28. When thus adjusted, the plate will.y as firmly supported as before and the universal connection between the rod 12 and the bearing block upon the plate will allow the same firm contact between the push bar and the plate. In thus inclining the plate, it may be necessary to slide one or both of the bearing blocks 31 within the slideway 29 so as to accommodate the change in the position of V liable to get out of order.
The advantages of the structure will'be obvious to those skilled in the art.
What I claim as new and desire to protect by Letters Patent is:
1. A scraper attachment for tractors including a scraper plate, push bars therefor, a su porting bracket for said bars secured to the lbwer side of said tractor, rods adjustable longitudinally in the forward ends of said bars, slideways on the rearward side of said plate, bearing blocks slidable therein, and universal connections between said rods and said blocks.
2.'A scraper attachment for tractors including a scraper plate, push bars therefor, a supporting bracket for said bars secured to the lower side of said tractor, rods adjustable longitudinally in the forward ends of said bars, slideways on the rearward side of said plate, bearingv blocks slidable therein, universal connections between said rods and said blocks, and supporting arms slidably connected with the upper side of said scraper plate for the pu ose described.
3. In a tractor aving a crank case, a front axle, and drive wheels, the combination of an attachment including a scraper plate, a bracket on said crank case, a push bar casting secured to said bracket, push bars supported by said casting, the forward ends of said bars being extensible, and a universal connection between said bars and said scraper plate.
4.-. In a tractor having a crank case, a f ront axle, and drive wheels, the combinatlon of an attachment including a scraper plate, a bracket on said crank case, a push ar castlng secured to said bracket, push Ibars supported by said casting, the forward ends of said bars being extensible, a universal connection between said bars and said scraper plate, and means to raise and lower said bars and said scraper plate.
5. In a tractor having a crank case, a front axle, and drive wheels, the combination of an attachment including a scraper plate, a bracket on said crank case, al push bar casting secured. to said bracket, push bars supported by said casting, the forward ends of said bars being extensible, bearing blocks adjustable longitudinally o said plate and a universal connection between said bars and said bearing blocks.
6. In a tractor including front and rear wheels, an attachment including a scraper plate, push bars su ported on the under side of said tractor in ront of said rearwheels, bearing blocks connected with said bars and adjustable on said scraper plate, said push bars being extensible to allow adjustment of said plate, means to raise and lower said bars and plate, and adjustable means to support the upper edge of said plate.
7. In a tractor including front and rear wheels, an attachment including a scra er plate, ush bars supported on the under s1de of said) tractor in front of said rear wheels, bearing blocks connected with said bars and adjustableon said scraper plate, said blocks having sockets therein, balls on said bars tting within said sockets said push bars vbeing extensible toallow a justment of said plate, means to raise and lower said bars and plate, and adjustable means to support the upper edge of said plate.
8. A tractor attachment including push bars adapted to be supported at their rear ends beneath said tractor, a scraper plate, longitudinal slideways on said plate, bearing blocks adjustable in said slideways, sockets in said blocks, rods adjustable in said bars,
balls on said rods engaging in said sockets, means to raise and lower said bars, and meansto support one edge of said plate.
9. A tractor attachment including a scraper plate, a plurality of p-ush bars connected with said tractor, universal connections between said bars and said plate, and supports for the upper edge of said plate, said bars and supports being adjustable longitudinally along said plate and also in the direction of travel.
10. A tractor attachment including a scraper plate, a pair of diverging push bars connected with said tractor, universal connections between said bars and said plate, a rod secured at both ends along the upper side of said plate, and supports for the upper edge of said plate secured slidably on said rod, said bars and supports being adjustable longitudinally along said plate for the purpose set forth.
