This invention'relates to devices for scoring, creasing and indenting paper sheets preparatory to folding and more particularly to devices inthe form of attachments .to

machines for shearing and cutting paper,-

Referring more in detail to the drawing, the numeral 10 designates in general a hollow cabinet base, such as is customary for paper cutting machines, the mechanism being partially disposed therein; I

A projecting shelf-like platform 11 at the front contains a rectangular recess extending lengthwise from side to side, th e'same being receptive of an elongated block 12 of wood I or other'material of a nature not liable to damage the knives or scoring blades which may be brought in contact with it, theblock being reversible to permit all four sides to be j used and may be readily replaced by another when worn. I l I I The upper part of the machine .is open at the top and disposed therein are uprights 13 connected by a bar l l'carrying a series ,of vertical guides 15, these guides being suited to enter into corresponding slots 16 formed in a cross Jbinder 17 adapted to clamp the paper sheets upon the platform.

Movable across the face of the binder bar 17 is a power operated knife bar 18 carrying a shear blade 19 and guided at the front by uprights 20 at the'ends, the same being positioned above the platform side guides 21.

Extending down from oneend of the bar I and provided with a forwardly extending arm 30 carrying at its end a pivot31.

The pivot is freely engaged in a slot 32 in theend of a link33, in turn pivoted to a foot lever 34 fulcrumed on a stud 35 set in a bracket 38 at the front of the base, thefoot lever being normally raised by the action of a spring 37 coiled around the stud. Y

;All of the several parts described in the foregoing are. elements of a conventional paper cuttlng machine and in themselves constitute no part of the present invention but are given in order to arrive at a complete understanding thereof.

The clamping means consists of a narrow flat plate 42, equal in width torthe" binder bar 17 and having fixed therein two or more their inner edges against the guides 15 and rods 43 suited to pass through appropriate vertical openings in the binder bar and, theresecured by wing nuts 44:. 1

Obviously by slackening the nuts, the plate 4&2 may be relaxed, permitting withdrawal or substitutionof other scoring bars, such for instance as indicated in Figure 4, in which a three limbed angle is shown, respecti'vely 45, 46 and 47. i s

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is s 1. In combination with a paper cutting. machine having a platform and a foot operated binder bar thereove-r, of an angle bar having one or more scoring edges, and means to clamp the bar to said binder bar.

2. In combination with a paper cutting machine having a platform, paper guides at its rear and a foot lever actuated binder bar, of a scoring blade, and means to adjustably secure said blade to the lower surface of said binder bar.

3. In combination with a paper cutting machine having a platform and a binder bar movable thereover, of means for cutting,
