though preferably Figure 2, whereby when these two grips are moved to the dotted position shown in Fi ure 3, the plate may be forced downwardly for applying or removing the same. Co-icting with the hook 21 is a hook 29Jformed from one edge of plate 30, which plate is secured to the sill 2 by any suitable means, as for instance, screws 31. This loosens the lower end so that the parts'rnay be swung out to the position shown in Figure 4 for washing windows or for throwing objects out of the window.- When the parts are to be disconnected, the structure is .swung from the position shown in Figure 4 to'. a substantially vertical position and then urged outwardly with a slightly downwardly swinging movement whereby the bar 7 is forced over the raised portion of hook 4. In perthe handles 19 are grasped near the lower ends and then pulled downwardly and at the same time pressed outwardly for causing the'bar 7 to slip ofiof the hook 4. In this way, all of the'screen is removed except the two hooks 4 and plate with its hook and securing screws 31. -I.These members'are leftpermanently in place so that the screen may be placed in position quickly at any time. In the accompan ing drawing,- a bar 17 has been shown, all this bar has. been illustrated asrectangular as this form of bar has proven to be satisfactory, though other means could be used, as for instanoe, an
ordinary flat plate or a U-shaped plate. 7
In Figure 6, a modified form is shown, wherein the bar 17 is used, said bar being round in cross section but otherwise functioning identical with bar 17, 'Under some cir: cumstances, it may be desired to solder the ends of the wire meshin place, and when this is the case, the bars 17 and 17 are eliminated and the wire mesh soldered directly in place. In a window screen, an upper frame section having a-turned .over portion .with 'a notch, and apull spring for said notch, said spring being formed with a substantially lJ-shap'ed portion extending through the notch, and a. pair of. laterally extending s ring arms for resiliently holding the U- s aped portion in a given position. j

In a window screen, an upper frame section having a channel portion and a turned over portion, a bar co-acting with said channel portion for clamping part of a strip of nettin in the channel, and'a pull spring arranged -'in said; turned overrtlon, said spring having a substantially shaped section projecting from the turned over portion whereby it may be connected with a support and resiliently support said section.
3. In a window screen, anupper framesection including in its construction a looped- .over portion having a notch in the upper edge, and a spring associated with said notch, said spring having'a U-shaped portion extending normally slightly through said notch, and a pair of'resilient arms having the ends frictionally engaging the top of the looped portion of said upper frame section so as to resiliently hold the uss'haped portion normally' in aretracted position.
