UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
WENDELIN SENG, OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS.
IMPROVEMENT IN DEVICES FOR ATTACHING BOLSTER-FRAMES T0 FOLDING LOUNGES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent N 0. 170,406, dated November 23, 1875 application filed April 26, 1875.
slotted to receive the notched ends of the bol-- ster-frame, and is provided with stops to prevent the frame from wearing the wooden rails, and with V-shaped lugs for holding the frame in place, as hereinafter fully described and shown.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective representation of the frame of a folding lounge combined with my bolster attachment; Fig. 2, a broken section of one of the lounge-rails and bolster attachment; Fig. 3, an inverted perspective view of the locking-plate.
A A represent the side :rails, and B B the end rails, of an ordinary folding lounge, which may be of any form desired. E E represent locking-plates, which are made of metal, and constructed with slotsT therein to receive the ends 0 of the bolster-frame, and with ribs Z to strengthen the plates. The under sides of these plates are provided with downward-projecting stops F for the ends X, Fig. 2, of the bolster-frame to bear against, to prevent them from splitting the wood or wearing it, so as to pass in too far; and they are also provided with V-shaped lugs S, for locking into notches in the ends of the bolster-frame, to hold it in position. This style of bolster is removable, and consequently some convenient fastening is desirable.
I do not claim to have originated such bolster, but confine myself to the claim presented.
I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States- The combination of the plates E E, constructed with slots T, stops F, and lugs S, with the bolster-frame D O, constructed with notched ends, as and for the purpose set forth.
