' of the objects ot my invention is to provide a display stand et this character comprising a plurality of baskets which may be, when used tor display., stacked one on top ot the other in such a manner that the merchandise may be readily removed from any one thereof and which, when shipped, may be packed in a knocked-down assembly.
For the purpose of disclosing my invention I have illustra-ted one embodiment thereoi" in the accompanying drawings in which,

Fig. 3 is a plan view ot the stand on which the baskets are supported;
Fig. 4 is a sectio-nal view showing the parts in their nested position, and
Fig. 5 is a det-ail showing the method of connection between the top basket and the bottom basket.
In the struct-ure illustrated I provide two baskets 1 and 2 which are adapted to be stacked one on top oi' the other and each of which is of substantially the same construction. Each basket is formed entirely of metal7 the side and bottom angled integral sla-ts 3 and t being each formed from a piece or wire folded upon itself with the arms diverging and the loop ends constituting the bottom oi' the receptacle. rI`he bights 5 ot the slat members are welded, soldered, or otherwise fastened to a bottom center ring 6 and also to a suitable bottom hoop 7. I also provide a side hoop 8 and a top hoop 9 which are secured to the slats in the same manner as the bottom hoops. For supporting the bottom basket I provide a stand comprising three legs 10 each ci' which is formed of a single piece of wire having its lower end doubled and twisted upon itself to form a toot 11. The upper end ot the leg is twisted inwardly and then outwardly to form a hook 12, the purpose of which will more fully hereinatter appear. The legs are tied together at their bottoms by horizontal braces 13 which are formed from a single piece ot wire passing around all of the legs and soldered or welded thereto. The legs are also braced and tied 'together by diagonally eX- tending braces ormed'trom a single `piece of wire. One end otthis wire is secured at the point 14 to one ofthe legs. i The wire is then extended downwardly and diagonally to form a brace 15 and passes around the lower end ot a leg7 being welded or soldered there to. rlhe wire then passes upwardly forming a diagonal brace 1G and then taking around another leg, being welded or soldered thereto, and passes downwardly forming another brace 17. It then takes around the lower portion of a leg and passing upwardly again forms a diagonal brace 18 which crosses the brace 1 5 and passing around the second leg extends downwardly forming a brace 19, crossing the brace 16 and taking around the second leg extends upwardly `forming a. brace 20, crossing the brace 17 and its tree end is fastened at the same point the end le is secured. It is thus seen that the diagonally disposed braces ext-ending beformed trom a single piece ot wire.
rIhe top basket 1 is provided with three supporting legs each ot which comprises a single piece of wire having a horizontally disposed portion 21 and a vertical portion 22. The horizontally disposed portions of the legs meet in the center ot the bottom of the basket and are welded or soldered together, being also securedvin any suitable manner, as by welding or soldering or by tie wires'to the bottom rings ot the basket. Each of the legs 22 is braced by a pair of diagonally extending braces 23 and 24C formed from a single piece of wire having its ends tied over, as at 25., theb these hookslQ to be engaged on the inner side of the ring and, due to the resiliency ot the metal, ai'ter they have been engaged theyare forced outwardly to hold them in such engagement. rIhe hooks 27 on the bottoms of the legs of the top basket 1 are engaged with the top hoop 9 ot' the bottom Vbasket in a like manner so that when the parts are all assembled a substantially rigid display stand comprising a pair of baskets is provided.

Each basket, however, is provided with its own supporting legs and may be used independently of the other if so desired.
l/Vhen it is desired to ship the structure,
rthe bottom stand is disengaged i'rom the basket and the top basket and its stand disengaged from the bottom basket. The bottom basket can then be nested into the top basket as shown in Fig. l and by reversing the stand the stand may be nested into the bottom basket, thereby materially reducing the size o'l' the parcel to be shipped.
I claim as my invention:
1. In a display stand the combination with a receptaclecomprising angled slat members and a bottom hoop, of a removable stand for said basket comprising legs formed of wire,l
vertically disposed hook, braces for securing said legs together and said legs being inserted within said hoopand having a bias outwardly to force said hooks outwardly into einbracing engagement with saidV hoop. y
3. In a display stand the combination with a receptacle comprising angled slat members and a bottom hoop, of legs formed of wire each being bent at its upper end inwardly and then outwardly to form an integral outwardly vertically disposed facing hook, Vbraces for securing the legs together, said legs being inserted within the hoop and having an outward bias to force said hooks outwardly into embracing engagement with said hoop, a seoond receptacle comprising angled slat members and suitable securing hoops having secured thereto legs rformed orF wire the bottom ends of said legs being bent inwardly and then outwardly to iorm integral outwardly facing vertically disposed hooks, said legs being inserted in the top hoop of the iirst mentioned receptacle and having a bias to 'force said hooks outwardly into embracing engagement with said hoop.
