ATTORNEYS Patented Dec. 11, 1928.
UNITED STATES GEORGE TAYLOR GALE, OF TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA.
HOLDER FOR DENTIFRICE CONTAINER TUBE S.
Application filed April 21, 1927. Serial No. 185,551.
My invention relates to improvements in holders for dentifrice container tubes, and
the object of the invention is to devise means for removably holding such tube in a closely 6 adjacent and therefore in a convenient posi--v type provided with an orifice through which,
the handle of the tooth brush is inserted in the usual way so as to depend therefrom with the head of the brush resting upon the holder. The holder 1 is preferably in ring forum.
2 is my dentifrice tube holder comprising a hanger formed out of a single wire bent intermediate-1y of its length to form two parallel depending members 2 and 2 which are twisted together intermediately of their length as indicated at 3 to form a transverse reinforcement, the upper ends of. the wires 2 and 2 being bent back upon themselves to form split eyes t and 5 which are spring held closed and provided with depending fingers l-* and 5 formed by the extremities of the wires 2 and 2 forming receiving months for the reception of the opposite sides of he ring holder 1 as will hereinafter be explained.
The lower ends of the members 2 and 2 are turned inwardly horizontally to form a V-shaped receiving recess 6.
When applying my device the ring holder 1 is inserted between the upper ends of the members 2 and 2 and the tube holder carried vertically downward so that the sides of the ring enter the mouths formed by the extremities 4B and 5 so as to spring the split I portions of the eyes 4 and 5 open to permit the ring holder 1 to enter the eyes.
The tube designated by the numeral 7 provided with a cap 7* is inserted at its upper end between the lower ends of the members 2 and 2 so that the enlarged cap engages above the horizontal portions of the members 2 and 2 forming the recess 6 so as to entherewith and hold the tube in a hanging position as clearly indicated in the drawmg.
The tooth brush may be inserted in the ring holder 1 in the usual manner so that the handle thereof depends from such ring holder at the back of my tube holder above the tube as clearly indicated in the drawing.
It the cap is a small cap without a flanged head, in order to insert the tube in the hold' ing position the cap may be loosened and the neck of the tube sprung into position in the recess 6 beneath the lower edge of the cap and the cap tightened down.
From this description it will be seen that Ihave devised a very simple device for holding a dentifrice tube holder in a convenient position for use in such a way that the tube may be always identified with the brush and the corresponding user. 7
What I claim as my invention is The combination with a supporting structure and an eyed member extending therefrom, of a pair of parallel depending wire members having their upper ends turned inward to form a split eye, the extremity of the wire forming a finger spaced from its adjacent parallel member to form an entrance slot to the eye and at their lower end into a right angularly turned V-shaped portion adapted to bear against the surface of the supporting structure, and means extending between the depending wares for holding such wires together in spaced relation.
