In `the construction'of the cue, I have a device simulating a riflein'shape, with a slidable bar which may be' termed a cue]7 This bar has a trigger thereon and is actuated by springpower. A simple contrivanee for actuating the cue is to have an .elastic band With one end secured tothe lrear endrof the cue which extends through the barrel of the gun, and the other end secured to the barrel part of the gun structure.

If it is desired to give'a hard blow, the trigger may be drawn back the full extent of the slot and then released, and by proper judgment in .striking thevball, a relatively heavy blow may be given. If itis desired only to have a light'blow, the trigger Will only be partly drawn back and released With the elastic only partly tensioned, and thus give a light blow.` It is apparent that the players may manipulate the gun and the position in which they strike the balls so as to praetically secure the'efeet of playing billiards or pool with ordinary cues, but remain stationary and move the table. t

InF ig. 5 I show a pistol type of device for operating aeue, this having -a pistol handle grip 41 with a barrel 42 and having a slot 43 in the stock to accommodate the trigger of the rod forming the ouai The construction and operationof the pistol device is the same as the gun type of device shown in Figs. 3 and 4. If desired a person may aim the barrel of the pistol by handling it in one Vhand vvhilethey grip 4l of the pistol is held in the other hand; Whereas, `With s the gun the player aims by placing the end of the stock against the shoulder.

In playing the above mentioned game with my game board, it will be seen that it affords a game of skill in being able to aim the gun correctly and also using judgment in the striking of the balls. It is apparent, however, that if desired the gun or the pistol type of device with the eue may be used With a stationary billiard table or the like, the player moving around the table to play the game. y

Various changes may be made `in the principles of my invention without departing from the spirit thereoias set forth in the description, drawings and Claim.

In a game, a" striking implement comprising a gun-like struc-ture having a barrel with a longitudinal bore, a stock connected thereto having a lateral slot entering the said bore, a rod slidable in the bore and extending therethrough forming a eue, a trigger rigidly connected tothe rod and extending through the slot, a spring connected to the barrel and to the rod, the slot forming a limiting movement in both directions for the. trigger,

thereby giving a limit to the projection of the rod and to the tension of the spring, the trigger and rod `being adapted Yfor retention in a retracted position solely by engagement with a persons linger.
