My invention relatesto improvements in trolling spoons of the typeused in fishmg for game fish, and the object of my invention is to provide a trolling spoon of novel shape and 5 configuration that will have a novel motion in the water which makes it particularly alluring to game fish.
A further object is to provide a trolling spoon that always remains in an approxii mately vertical plane when trolling and that has a combined wabbling and oscillating motion in the water.
Other objects are to provide a trolling spoon that will have substantially the same I motion in the water throughout a relatively wide range of trolling speeds and one in which the spoon is capable of handling a relatively large hook in proportion to the size of the spoon.
A more specific object is to provide a trolling spoon composed of an oval shaped metal body member bent to form four spoon shaped portions, two of which are located near each end of the body member in side by side relation, each spoon shaped portion being dished in an opposite direction from the spoon shaped portion that lies alongside of t, or from the spoon shaped portion that lies in longitudinal alignment with it, each two d1- 30 agonally opposite spoon shaped portions being dished in the same direction relative to each other and in the opposite direction from the other twospoon shaped portions.
Other and more specific objects will be apparent from the following description taken in connectionwith the accompanying drawm s.

Figs. 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 are sectional views of the spoon on broken lines 33, 4-4, 55, 6-6 and 77 respectively of Fig. 1.
Figs. 8 and 9 are diagrams illustrating the action of the spoon in the water.
Like reference numerals designate like parts throughout the several views.
The efiiciency of a trolling spoon of this nature in catching fish is largely dependent on the action of the spoon in the water and on the manner in which said spoon reflects light and simulates the movement of small fish in the water. It is understood that trolling spoons of this nature must always: be kept properly polished in order to be efficient. Owing to the fact that the action of the spoon in the water and its light reflecting qualities both depend on its shape and configuration it will be obvious that the invention in the spoon resides in its novel shape and configuration.
In the accompanying drawings I show a spoon comprising a body member 10, bent to form four spoon shaped portions 11, 12, 13 and 14 that embrace substantially the entire area of the body member, the spoon shaped portions 11 and 12 being dished in opposite directions, as shown in Fig. 5, and being disposed side by si'de-near one end of the body member, and the spoon shaped portions 13 and 14 being similarly dished in opposite directions and being disposed side by side near the other end of the body member 10. The two spoon shaped portions 11 and 13 on one side of the longitudinal center line of the spoon are dished in reverse directions, Fig. 4, and the two spoon shaped portions 12 and 14 on the other side of the longitudinal center line are similarly dished in reverse directions as shown in Fig. 3.
From the preceding description it will be seen that the two diagonally opposite spoonshaped portions 11 and 14 are dished in the same direction and that the other two diagonally opposite spoon shaped portions 12 and 13 are also dished in the same direction, but that the pair 11 and 14 are dished in the opposite direction from the pair 12 and 13, each pair being convex on one side of the spoon body and concave on the other side. This arrangement results in the formation of a channel or trough 15, Figs. 1 and 6, between the concave sides of the spoon shaped members 11 and 14 and the formation of another channel or trough 16 connecting the concave sides of the other diagonally opposite members l2 and 13, said troughs necessarily being on opposite sides of the spoon body. The troughs 15 and 16 influence'the action of the spoon in the water.
A hook 17 is attached to one end of the spoon in the usual manner while a line 18 is attached by the usual swivel 19 to the other end.
When the spoon is drawn through the water in trolling, it will assume a general upright or vertical position and will oscillate or rock from side to side as indicated between the two dotted line positions shown in Fig. 9 but will not spin. At the same time the spoon will have a wabbling or wave like motion, as indicated in Fig. 8, as it is drawn through the Water. This combined wave like and oscillating motion makes the spoon especially alluring to fish and renders the spoon highly efficient.
The many curved surfaces on the spoon, when highly polished, serve to reflect the light efficiently and in an alluring manner.
The action of the spoon is even and strong in the water at slow and ordinary trolling speeds and the spoon is capable of handling a larger hook than is the ordinary trolling spoonof equal size. y
The foregoing description and accompanyingdrawings clearly disclose a preferred embodiment of my invention, but it will be understood that this disclosure is merely illustrative and that such changes in the invention may be made as are within the scope and spirit of the followingclaims.
I claim:
1. In a trolling spoon, a thin metal body inember'having four symmetrically arranged spoon shaped portions, two of which are formed side by side near each end of the body member the two spoon shaped portions near each end of the body member being dished in opposite directions.
2. In a trolling spoon, an oval body member of thin metal bent to form four spoon shaped portions located, two near each end of thin metal bent to form four spoon shaped portions embracing substantially the entire area of said body member, two of said spoon shaped portions being located near each end of said body member In side by side relation, each spoon shaped portion being dished in an opposite direction from the two respective spoon shaped portions that are disposed in alignment therewith lengthwise and crosswise of the spoon andbeing dished in the same direction as the diagonally opposite spoon shaped portion, r
4. In a, trolling spoon, a metal body member bent to form foe; spoon shaped portions, two of which are located side by side near each end of said body member, each spoon shaped portion beingdished in. the same di rection as the diagonally opposite spoon, shaped portion and each two: similarly dishedspoon shaped portions being connected with each other by a trough.
5. In a trolling spoon, an oval body member of thin metal bent tov fiorm four spoon shaped portions that embrace substantially its entire area and are located two near each end of said body member inside by side relation, each two diagonally opposite spoon;
