IMPROVEMENT IN STOVES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 169,205, dated October 26, 1875; application filed October 1, 1875.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY E. SPURRIER, of Florence, in the county of Benton and State of Iowa, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Stoves; and Ido hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to which it pertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings and to the letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification, in-which drawings- Figure 1 is a top view. Fig. 2 is a section on line 00 .r of Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is a perspective of the cross-pieces or centers.
My invention relates to the centers or crosspieces ofcookin g-stoves, ranges, or other stoves having holes for kettles or pots; and my invention consists in constructing both sides of the said cross-pieces alike, to render them revers ihle, to prevent them from warping; and in hollowin g out the bearing-edges of the crosspieces to lessen the weight and quantity of metal; and in connecting the long and short cross-pieces by a tongue-and-groove joint, as hereinafter more fully'described.
