My invention relates more particularly to a flat folding or collapsible cup, which is normally fiat like anenvelope but, whenv opened, is provided with an integral flat bottom, permitting the cup to stand npr-ight.
I am aware that many varieties of the envelope type of cups are to be found upon the market, and the, convenience in packing and cheapness of this type of cup is wel recognized, but they have the disadvantage,- of being without a flat bottomwhen opened and, therefore, canno,t-be set down, but must be held in thehand" when filled or in use. Therefore, one ob'ect of my improvement is to rovide a' flat olding cup, with a suitable Kat bottom, that when in use, it may readily set not be continually held in thehandJ a In view of the fact that cups of this char acter are usually made from a single thickness of for the 1p of the cup, which is somewhat inconvenient to drink from, a further object of my improvement is to provide acollaps- .ible cup of this character, with an outward fold at the lip thereof to provide a double thickness, uncut edge for the lip of the cup, thereby avoiding the unpleasantness of hav ing the raw edge of the pa 1' comin in contact with the lips when inking f rom thecup. v a
A further object of myimprovementjis to rovide a single blank, which, ,when fol ed by reverse folds on a longitudinal line, will form a saddle fold for the bottom of the cup, and the dia nal corners of the blank are provided wit tongues extending laterall and longitudinall ,-which are adapte to .form the double-lip folds when the cup is completed.

The blank thus formed has lateral edges 2' and 3, converging from the ends 4 toward the center of the blank or toward the ends of an imaginarymedian line, indicated by dotted line A in Fig. 1,-extending transversely of the blank at its middle, the halves of theblank being reverse duplicates.
