This invention relates to improvements in Weeding implements, such as that forming the subject matter of my Patent, No. 1,635,- 098, dated July 5, 1927 the general object of the invention being to provide means for lowering and raising the blades so that they can be raised entirely above the ground or placed to enter the ground to varying degrees and also to provide means whereby the blades can be easily removed from their supporting frame and replaced therein.
. This invention also consists in certain other features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts to be hereinafter fully described illustrated in the accompanying drawings and specifically pointed out in the appended claims.
In describing my invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying drawings wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the several views, and in which 2- Figure 1 is a plan view of the implement.

Figure 3 is a perspective view with parts broken away, showing the means for attaching the blades to the frame.
Figure 4 is a fragmentary view of the front end of one of the blade stems.
Figure 5 is a section on line 55 of Figure 1.
Figure 6 is a section on line 66 of Figure 5.
In these views, A indicates a straight channel-shaped member with its open side facing toward the rear and this member is composed of two channel-shaped beams 1 which have their vertical flanges overlapping and fastened together by the rivets 2. These vertical flanges are provided with notches 3, the notches in one flange registering with those in the other. A tubular member 4 is fastened in each end of the member A by the rivets or bolts 5, with the outer end of the member 4 projecting from the end of the member A so as to form a spindle for the wheel 6. A flange 7 is formed on each member 4 and abuts the outer end of the member A. Lubricant material mav be placed in the members 4 and this material will pass into the hub cap 8 and from there will pass between the hub 6 of the wheel and the spindle forming part of the member 4.
A yoke-shaped member 9 has the ends of its limbs fastened to the front of the member A, and this member 9 is of channel shape in cross section with its open side uppermost. The inner vertical flange of said member is formed with the slots 10 so that the front ends of the stems 11 of the blades 12 may extend into the channel member 9 and these front ends are provided with the notches 13 for receiving the lower part of the head of the T- shaped bar 14 which is slidably held in the channel member 9 by the brackets.15 which are fastened to the front face of the member 9 and overlap the upper part of the head of the T-shaped bar 14. The lower part of the head of said T-shaped bar is formed with notches 16 and when these notches come into register with the notches 13 when the T- shaped bar is moved, the stems of the blades can be pulled from the channel-shaped member, but when the bar 14 is moved to place the notches 16 out of register with the notches 13, the solid portions of the bar will enter the notches 13 and thus the stems will be locked in the member 9. This T-shaped bar is moved to locking and unlocking position by a lever 17 pivoted to a cross brace 18 connected with the members A and 9. This lever may be ar-' ranged so that it can be operated either by the hand or foot of the operator occupying the seat 18, the bar 19 of which is connected with the cross piece 20 of theV-shaped frame'21 which has its ends hooked to the member A, as shown at 22, and its apex provided with the draft receiving means 23. A bar 24 extends across the front part of the space formed by the frame 21 and carries the front wheel 25.
A lever 26 is pivoted to the central part of the member 9 and has its lower end connected by a link 27 with the cross piece 20 so that by manipulating the lever 26, the frame, composed of the members A and 9. will pivot on the wheels and thus raise and lower the blades 12.
From the foregoing it will be seen that the blades can be easily and quickly remoeed from the frame by shifting the T bar by means of the lever 17 and that the blades can be raised and lowered through means of the lever 26.
It is thought from the foregoing description that the advantages and novel features of my invention will be readily apparent.
It is to be understood that I may make changes in the construction and in the com Jination and arrangement of the several parts, provided that such changes fall within the scope of the appended claims.
What I claim is 1. An implement of the class described comprising a wheel supported frame, notches in the front and rear members of the frame, blades having their stems passing through the notches, the front end of each stem having a notch therein which is arranged in the front member of the frame. a sliding bar for engaging the notches for locking the stems in the front member. said bar having notches therein for registering with the notches in the stems to unlock the stems and 1ronanually operated means for moving said 2. An implement of the class described comprising a frame composed of front and rear members, each having slots therein, blades having stems engaging the slots, the front end of each stem having a notch therein located within the front member, a notched bar slidably arranged in the front member for locking the stems in said member when the un-notched parts of the bar engage the notches in the stems and said bar releasing the stems when the notches therein register with the notches in the stem, a hand lever for moving the bar, wheels having their pintles connected with the ends of the rear member, a V-shaped frame hooked to the rear member, a front wheel carried by the frame, a hand lever pivoted to the front member and a link connecting the lower end of the lever with a part of the V-shaped frame for raising and lowering the knives.
