The' object of the invention is,.to provide a proces'sfor loading or charginga vehicle 20 with refuse and the likeinwhich thejcontainer receiving-the material has. the form of a drum rotatably' mounted upon the body of the vehicleand is. provided with a lateral filling opening. I According to the invention the-refuse and like material is to be filled into the; drum through the lateral filling opening to the height or level of the loading edge; which; is adjustable to any desired height whereupon by turning the drum to and fro andutilizing the weight of the material as well as the natural angle of inclination the material is brought to the side of the drum opposite the filling place and lifted above the height of filling. s In this manner it is possible to load the side of the drum opposite the loading side and to remove the cone formed underneath the loading place without poking or using.

What I claim is:" V I 1. -A method of loading materials into a, vehicle of the type having a rotatablymounted container and a filling opening therein, which comprisesthe repeated steps of loading thematerial into the container of the vehicle through the opening-thereof until it reaches the edge of the opening; and
