WINDOW VENTILATOR Filed Max-ch 1.6, 1928 .ing outside the ventilatorparalleltliereto in the direction of the arrows shown in Eigures 1 and 2, Ithe air will strike theedges introduced throu h the disk 28, and thus creates a draft t rough the room. When this result is sought the -louvers of the disk 27 are referably disposed horizontally as herein s own, in which neutral position the draft is not seriously impeded. If preferred, of course, the louvers of the diskV 27 may be disposed in a position diametrically o posite to that shown in the iigures, and thus all air may be excluded during the operating of the draft. Various other dispositions of the disks are possible to create the desired varied results in ventilation.
The location of the operating handles at the center,` of the disks insures a strong and facile operation, and makes unnecessary the increase of parts and expense involved by the use of rotatable auxiliary rims.
We claim -4 1. In a window ventilator, an oblong plate provided with semicircular orifices longitumanson dinally 'disposed therein, disks rotatabl supported by the plate over the orifices, an
a series of integral'forwardly directed' louver jins transversely di upon semicircularkseginental areas of the disks.
.2. In a widow ventilator, a plate rovided with two spaced semieircular ori ces extendmgl longitudinally thereof, disks rotatably supportedupon the plate registering withthe orifices, andforwardly directed integral louver fins integral with semicircular segmental areas of the disks, the fins ofone .disk being disposed in parallelism with the fins of the other disk and arranged iii a vertical direction, and the fins 'of the first disk being disposed at an inclination opppsite to that of the fins of the second dis whereby a draft is formed between the orifices. I
3.- In a window ventilator, a 'plate provided-with semicircular orifices, integral offset ilan'es bounding the curved portions of the orifices, lugs upon the plate projecting into the openings midway of their straight portions and provided with holes extending partially` into the late, rotatable shafts extending through t e holes, handles upon l the shafts, disks upon the shafts overlapped by the flanges, and a series of integral torwardly directed louver fins transversely disposed upon semicircular segmental areas of the disks.
In testimony whereof we have aixed our d signatures.
