This invention ielates rto a wash cloth and more particularly to an article of thatpdescription which may be termed a bunny wash cloth, that is, one folded into the semblance of a rabbits head with va body portion of suitable form.

The main object of the invention is the provision of a wash cloth folded into a pleasing and attractive form which appeals to children for use as a doll or puppet and which when it has fulfilled that purpose may be used as a wash cloth. Y

Another object of the invention is the p rovision of a simple method of folding which permits the Wash cloth when soiled from use as a doll or puppet to be washed and cleaned and again folded, if'desired, for such use. Y

A further object is the provision of a wash cloth folded into a colorful and attractive form to increase its saleability as-an article of commerce. f

Other objects of the invention will be more specifically set forth and described hereinafter. l

In the accompanying drawings, illustrating one form of my invention, igure 1 is 'a plan view of a wash cloth of suitable fabric of rectangular form adapted to be'folded in accordance with my invention; Fig. 2 is a front elevation of the upper portion of the Wash cloth after the foldingv has been nearly completed but before the neck has been formed by the addition of a binding cord; Fig. 3 is a frontelevation of the wash cloth completely folded and Fig. t isa side elevation of the head portion illustrating the method of tying the folds together for forming the neck and for holding the parts in assembled position.

Referring to the drawings and particularly to Figure 3, designates a head portion and 12 a body portion. Thehead is preferably in the semblance of the head of a rabbit, fa-

nose and mouth are formed by marks 14, 16 and 18 respectively which may be imprinted or formed on `the head by embroidery or stitching suitably placed. Behind the head projects laterally, one on each side, ears 2O which may be of any suitable form but preferably are comparatively large in relation to the size of the head and are oval in shape.

The body portion 12 is in the form of a cape which expands from the head to form shoulder portions 22 and then hangs downwardly in straightlines, the front of the cape being open. A cord 24 tween the head andthe body portions forms a neck and also serves to hold the folded parts in their assembled relation.V The edges of the cape and the ears are finished with enrl broidery, ciocheting or tatting 26 of an ornamental character. In folding the cape portion the edges thereof on the sides of the neck are drawn above the neck cord at 28 to give a collar effect on the sides of the head (Fig. Zi) which enhances the pleasing` effect of the design.

The attractiveness of the figure may further be enhanced by using colored yarns or thread for the edge trimming and black or colored thread forathe features of the face contrasting with the color of the edge trimming.

For forming the bunny, a squaieor rectangular single piece 30 (Fig. 1) of a fabric suitable for a wash cloth and provided with edge trimming 2G is used and while in fiat form it is provided with simulations of the eyes 14, nose 1G and mouth 18 of a rabbit cen-4 trally placed near the top of the fabric. These marks-may be made in any suitable manner as byembroidery, stitching', painting or printing.

tied tightly be- The ears 2O are first formed from the two upper corner portions 32 by gathering each corner along the curved line 34 and securing the gathered folds together by stitching or tying. Upon the completion of the ears, the upper edge 36 isr then folded back on the line 38 into engagement with the back face of they fabric 30 to formthe top line ofthe head and the two intermediate portions between the head and the ears are then each gathered together and folded in behind the head thus drawing the two ears inwardly into the position shown in Fig. 2. As thus arranged the neck or gathered portion of each year is close'v to or in engagement with the siiniiar portion of the other ear and the two extend laterally outwardly one on each side of the head. At this stage the parts may be tacked together. The center of the head line 38 at point 40 is then drawn backwardly andy downwardly over the junction point of the two ears and secured thereto by stitching. If desired, the first tacking may be dispensed with and the ears held in position with the fingers until the center of the head line has been drawn over when one tacking will be found suficient to hold the folded parts permanently. In performing this operation, care should be exercised to arrange and pack the folds in such manner asto secure a rounded head of the shape desired. Lastly the application of the cord 24 forms the neck and the lower portion of the head and is tied at theback With a bow-knot (Fig. 4) which eompletesv from a Wash `cloth is comparatively simple and can be4 performed expeditiously in a minimum A.of time vandgvvith little effort when soiled from use, the neck string may be removed7 the tackingrat the back of the head cut and the parts unfolded to` ermit cleansing by Washing or otherwise a ter which the n cloth may be refolded and tacked anda neva7 neck string used orthe cloth mayf then be used as a wash'cloth.`
