The invention is adevice for readily displaying objects which is stamped from a flat piece of material and readily folded so that it will readily be supported around the object and have a neat and substantial appearance.

Another object of the invention is to provide a display device which may be stamped from a flat piece of material and readil folded to encase an object.

A further object of the invention is to provide a display device which is readily made from a fiat piece of material which will have a neat and substantial appearance in use.

And a still further object of the invention is to provide a foldable display device that may be made from a single flat piece of material which has projections that extend un der the object to be placed therein by which the object will rigidly hold the device.

lVith these ends in view the invention embodies a flat piece of material with a rectangular shaped opening out therein, a tongue extending downward from the lower end of the said opening and the piece of material cut from the said opening being cut on the sides only and being folded to encase an object that may be partially placed in the said opening.

In the design shown the opening is made to accommodate a can, such as a can of salmon, and is cut on the lines 5 and 6 from the points 7 at the top to the points 8 at the bottom, the cuts then extend inward along the lines 9 and curve downward to form the lines 10 and the material is cut to the points 11 thereby, forming complete cuts from the points 7 to 11. another fold line is provided between the points 11 to indicate the line upon which the lower end of the back .3 is folded from the base, which line is indicated by the numeral 13 and shown at the point 13 in Figure 2. Another fold line which is indicated by the numeral 1 1 is provided between the points 7 which indicates the line upon which the upper end of the back 3, which is indicated by the numeral 15, is folded from. the front 1, and another fold line which is indicated by the numeral 16 is provided in the back 3 which indicates the juncture between the back 3 and the upper portion 15. Aflange 17 may also be provided at the upper end which may also be provided with a fold line 18 so that it may readily be folded backward to stiffen the upper edge or front of the device. t is understood that this flange may be omitted if desired.

It will be understood that changes may be made in the construction without departing from the spirit of the invention, one" of which changes may be in the altering of the peripheral outline of the device, another may be in the shape of the opening which may be made to accommodate any suitable object or objects, and still another may be in the design or arrangement of the base.

The construction will be readily understood from the foregoing description. To use the deviceit may be supplied as shown in Figure 3 and when it is desired to display an object it may be folded upon the lines as hereinbefore described and an object may be placed in the opening 4. The device may then be set upon a counter or placedin any suitable position so that the object placed therein will readily be displayed. It will be observed that the back 8 may be folded to fit snugly around the object and the object will rest upon projections 19 of the base which are cut from openings 20 in the back 3. This will thereore provide a very economical and efficient display device whichwill have'a' neat and substantial appearance.
