J HATCHER CLOTHESPIN BAG Filed May 28, 1927 u Inl IIIIIIII Patented Sept. 4, 1928.
UNITED STATES PATENT oFFIcE.
JOSH HATCHER, OF COKEDALE, COLORADO, ASSGNOR OF TWO-THIRDS TO LEO R. GOTTLIEB, F COKEDALE, COLORADO.
CLOTHESPIN BAG,
Application lcd May 28, 1927.
My invention relates to bags forvholding clothespins or the like and contemplates providing means whereby the bag may be slidably supported upon the clothes line so that the same may be moved from place to place thereon.
A further object is to provide means by which the bag may be quickly and easily placed and replaced upon the line.
construction of an article of this character of neat and attractive appearance, easily accessible to users thereof and inexpensive to manufacture.
Other objects and advantages will become more apparent from the following detailed description when viewed together with the accompanying drawings forming part hereof, wherein:
Figure l is a front elevational view,
Figure 2 is a side view thereof, A
Figure 3 is a fragmentary vertical sectional view through the upper portion of the bag.
Referring now to the drawing I have shown my invention conmrising a bag 5 preferably formed of fabric orother suitable material and having an opening (3 in one side thereof and preferably near the top portion and of sufficient size to permit the insertion of the hand of the user whereby to remove clothespins therefrom.
The bag may be formed of any desirable shapeand has its upper edge provided with a solid block 7 to which the bag is fixedly secured as by screws or the like and through which block is arranged to extend a bolt S threaded at its lower end to accommodate a nut by means of which the bolt is fixedly secured thereto. To the upper end of the bolt is arranged a supporting handle l0 formed of a strip of relatively flexible mate- Other objects and advantages comprise the:
Serial No. 195,020.
rial and constituting aloop, open at its lower end, the end of said loop being formed into a spring-pressed finger ll normally arranged to substantially close the opening therein. A pin l2 is transversely supported between the sides of the loop upon which is rotatably mounted a pulley wheel 13 adapted to be mounted upon a clothesline or Cable 14 and arranged to freely travel thereon.
In practice the bag 5 may be filled with a quantity of clothespins and by forcing the springepressed finger 11 slightly outwardly the pulley 13 may be placed in position upon the clothesline and when in such position the bag may be freely moved from end to end thereon.
It is obvious that my invention is susceptible to various changes and modifications without departing from the spirit thereof or the scope of the appended claim and I accordn ingly claim all such forms of the device to which I am entitled.
I claim:
In a device of the class described, a bag of flexible material having an opening formed in one side near the upper edge thereof, a block forming a closure for the top of the bag, a bolt extending through said block, a vertically disposed hanger extending upwardly from said bolt and connected thereto and comprising a strip of material formed substantially into a loop having a restricted opening adjacent its lower end, a spring pressed finger formed on the free end of said strip and movable into and out of closing position with respect to said opening in said loop, and a` pulley wheel rotatably mounted within the loop.
In testimony whereof I ahx my signature.
JOSI-I HATOHER.
