`This invention relates "to `finishing devices and more in particular to devices for finishing the flat surfaces of parts made of wood, metal` g other similar abrasive. `Another object of this invention is to provide such a de vice which is substantially self-cleaning, that 1s, a
device wherein the removed portions of thematerial worked upon will not clog 1t up, thus i greatly impairing its eiiiciency. A further"` object of this invention is the provision of a iinishing device composed of numerous renewable cutting-members which are so disposed as to remove parts of the material to be finished by 'a gradual shearing action. Still another y obj eet is to provide a relatively simple finishing device which may beeasily assembled or dismantled for repair and `which will greatly ontlast the type of devices of similar purpose using discs of abrasive'ma-terial. Additional features and advantages of this invention will appear from the followingy description con-r sidered in connection with the `accompanyir'ig and in which:

i As shown in said Fig. 1, the cutting-'blades are, assembled 1n groups each comprising a majorblade 6 and thecloselyheld minor-blades 7 `which are all disposed in parallel relation to the major-blade. The latterv entends from the periphery of the disc-member and is disv posedtangentiallyto an imaginary circle con` centric with the disq thus forming an acute angle MT with the I radial line passing through the `outer end of the blade.
The major and minorblades'are held at the periphery of therdis`c-member by means shaped cross-section, the vertical sideQ of `which fits snugly on the flange 2'of` the discmember, whereas the shorter and horizontal iside 10 isadapted tobear on the lugsll provided at the outer ends of said blades. Screws 21 are also shown for properlyseourn ing the clamping-ring on jthe` disc-member.
The inajorlblade and some of the longer minor-blades are secured at their inner ends by meansofthecenter-cap 12 comprising a hub 13 and the top-flange 14, `the latter bearing on the `lugs 15 cnt at theinnerends of said blades.
