The switch contacts are mounted upon a cylindrical shell made of non-conducting material, which has the ends 2 and 3 for the support ot a stub shaft 4, and a/stub shaft 5, on which latter lthe knob 6 is mounted.
Yokes 7 and 8 on the two shafts 4-and 5,
carry a bar of non-conducting material 9 to which the spring contacts 10, 11 and 12 are connected.
, These ycontacts are arranged to pass over the heads? of a `series ofl rivets 13, 14 and 15, three rows of said rivets being made use of, so as `,to give nine possible"combinations f if' The switchqitself is secured to the front 17, of the radio set by means of two small bolts 18 and 19. In the present example a series of coils 2O are connected to the three back rivets of the switch by means ot wires 21 and 22 and 23,v but, of course, as many other wires may be used as may be desired and different combinations provided. l i
In .the form of the invention shown in Figures 5 to 7 inclusive, there is a cylindrical shell which has two eai's 31-32 for securing it to the front board 33 of the radio set, within the shell there is a bar or nonconducting material 34, whichA is pivotall'y mounted by means of two cap screws and 36, and the bar has an operating spring 37 secured thereto which is connected to a slid- Y able rod 38 which has the operating knob 39 on its outerV end.
The bar v34 carries three contact springs 40-41 and 42 which springs are arranged to contact in pairs with the rivets V437-44 and 46 of which there are three rows as indicated in'F'igures 6 and 7. The wires may be connected with the rivets in any desired order to give the necessary permutations of resistants with the movementof the contact holding bar. Y Y
In the form of the invention shown in Figures 8 and 9 the rcover tor carrying the contacts is illustrated at 5(1), and it is substantially semi-cylindrical, with the ends 51 and 52 to bear upon the front board oi the radio set, or other wall 53 .to which the switch is connected.
