Be it known that I, HENRY H. GARRETT, 0f the 0ity and county 0f Albany, State 0f New York, have invented 0ertain new Improvements in Pins and Eyes f0r Molders Flasks and I hereby deelare that the following is a deseription thereof, reference being had t0 the accompanying drawings forming a parb 0f this specification, in Whi0h- Figure 1 represents a seetion 0f two parts ofa flask, With the steadying-pin and eye, embodying the improvements in tl1is inventi0n, and attaehed thereto. sectional view 0f the steadying-pin and its key, secured in place in the wo0d 0f the flask. My invention relates 130 steadying-pins and eyes for molders flasks,and consiscs in the combination, with a plate-braeket earrying tl1e piu 01 eye, 0f an attaehing-pin, having a spm on its wood side a1; sonne point back of t-he seid. plate-bracket, and a key, in such a manner that, when the attaching-pin is inserted in a hole made in the side 0f the flask and the key is driven in the .same hole 011 the opposite side from the spur, the said Spur may be clriven 0r sank int0 the w0od. in a direction"fltg;ight angles witl1 the holding-pin the obje0t 0f this invention being 130 secure the plate-bmeket and. its pin 0r eye firmly t0 the sides of the fiask, and prevent its shifting 01 displaeement, by a key that n1ay be readily removed, that, in the event 0f a, pin 01' eye being broken the molder may, hy the use 0f a new duplieate pie0e, after removing the old piece by a withdrawal 0f 1she key, replaee the broken pieee, (und thereby obviate all neeessity f0r its removal the carpenters shop f0r the necessary repair, as DOW required.

E is the key, made substantially as sh0wn in Figs. 2, 3, and 4, with plain bearing surface xand With a partiallyinelined surfa0e, z, as shown in the said figures. The said key is made with tl1e head F having a lip, e, exte nding laterally a little 01111 from the body 0f Ehe key. The head 0f the said key is preferablymade With a, form that will 00rresp0nd With the plaebr&eket B, for the appearance 0f a finished termin'ation 0f the same, as shoWn in Fig. 1. When it is desired to replaee a br0ken pin 01 eye tl1e key is be withdrawn, which may be effeetecl by inserting any suitableinstrument beneat-h the head F and prying 011 the sanr1e, when the platze, with its attaching-spur, may be readily removed, when the old broken pin 01 eye may be replaced loy a new dupli- 0ate pieee.
