These coils control a. common armature 21 in the form of a plunger slidable within a tube 22 extending-through both of said coils and at one end it extends into an ex electrical connection with a contact plate 25, and in a' similar manner the coil 19 is in electrical connection with the contact plate 26. r
The bracket 14 carries an adjustable spring pressed contact 27 to cooperate with the plate 26 and also an adjustable spring pressed contact 28 to cooperate with the plate 25. A line 29 leads from the contact .27 to the mercury switch, and a line 30 leads .from the contact 28 to the mercury switch.
The number of solenoids employed depends upon the number of score indicators which are to be used, as each score indicator is provided with its own solenoid to actuate it, so that when' the windings or coil is energized, the armature 21 is moved toward the right of its position seen in Figure 7, thereby rocking the casing 15 on its iulcrum, and the score indicator carried by such solenoid casing will be elevated into its set po-* sition and will be visible to the player.
Each bracket ,14 is'fixed on its shaft '31 by means of a fastening device 32,- the shaft 31 being secured to an angle 34 of the frame of the device. The lines 29 and pass through an insulated sleeve 33 which is conuected with the bracket 14, and also with the angle frame 34.
It will be seen from Figure 9 that the score indicators are progressively numbered 75, 100, 125, 150, 175, 200, 225, 250, 275,.and
.300, and, of course, the number of thescore indicators may be increased or diminishedas may bedesired.
It will be seen that in order to provide'a compact score device, the brackets which carry the solenoids are in some cases arrau cd in pairs as shown in Figures 9 and 10, in which a pair of brackets 14, see Figure 10, are mounted on the same shaft 31.
In order to provide for the'high score the target is provided with a. bulls eye 35 in the form of a pressure transmitting member,
see more particularly Figures 4,5 and 6, from the chamber of which leads a pipe 36 which leads to a mercury switch 37 which is of the same construction as that of the merc'ury switch 11 except as to the number of contacts employed.
The mercury switch 37 consists of. a tube provided'with a removable cap 38. Each mercury switch'is provided with a tube '39 The switch 37 is swivelled on the pipe 36 and in a similar manner the mercury switch 11 is swivelled on the pipe 10, so' that when either of these switches are turned the circuit will be closed at a lower pressure than if such mercury switches were standing upright, as the mercury has a less distance to travel to close the circuit. The bulls eye switch 37 is provided'with a contact 42 and f a contact 43.
Referring to the diagram seen in Figure 2, designates a source of electric supply such as for example, a battery, from which leads a line 45 to a contact 46,"in the mar-- cury switch 11, 'so that the line 47 which contains a switch 48 will permit the current to flow to the solenoids. When the mercury rises in the mercury switch 11, due to the pressure createdby. the impact of the ball striking the 'target;
the circuits will be] progressively closed through the contacts 49, 50,51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 56. 57, and 58, so that the various solenoids will be actuated to effect the raising of the. score indicators into their indicating p'osi tions. The return circuit is formed'through the contacts" 59, 6Q, 61, 62, 63, and-64 by' a line 65 to the battery 44. The terminals and 67 effect the energization of thc"solenoid for the score. indicator indicative of the lower score, and the next higher 'score .iiiv dicator is controlled by the tern1ii1a- ls 68 and 69.
In a similar manner the other cii'cuitsare 1 closed and I- have deemed it unnecessary to describein detail the'operat ion of each circuit, the onlyessential feature being that the score indicators will be'progressively 1 raised into indicating positon in accordance with'the force of the'inipact of the golf ball against the target and the pressure created? so thattheproper score indicators will be.

I have described my novel ball game as being especially adapted to be played as a golf game but it will be apparent that inbodies the features of advantage enumerated as desirable in the statement of the invention and the above description, and while I have, in the present instance, shown and described a preferred embodiment thereof which will give in practice satisfactory and reliable results, it is to be understood that this embodiment is susceptible of modification in various particulars without depart ing from the spiritor scopeof the invention or sacrificing any of its advantages. Having thus described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
1. In a ball game, a target movably mounted and adapted to be hit by a moving by said target, electric circuit closing mach-- ball, a pressure transmitting device actuate anism progressively actuated by said device in accordance with the pressure transmitted,

A ball game comprising a target movably mounted and adaptedto be hit by a moving ball, a pressure transmitting member actuated by said target, a mercury switch controlled by said pressure transmittingmember and having a plurality of con tacts progressively closed asthe pressure increases, and score indicators having solenoids in electrical connectionfwith said contacts to effect the setting of the score indicators as the circuits are closed.
