This invention 1 relates to -neckties,v andmore particularly neckties of theunade-up-or ready+t1ed type, thedmportant object of the inventionbeing to provide a resilient form around which the tie may be tied, means being; provided whereby the f0rm-may be secured within the coll-an or around the necktie.
The rimary object} of the invention is to provide a metallic form which is resilient so that the form may be compressed while being positioned and released in such a way that the securing device employed in connection with the form, will automatically assume its active position to hold the tie in place.
A still further object of the invention is the provision of a tie which will not have to be untied and tied every time the tie is used, thereby reducing the wear on the tie to the minimum.
lVith the foregoing and other objects in view which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the combination and arrangement of parts and in the details of construction hereinafter described and claimed, it being understood that changes in the precise embodiment of the invention herein disclosed, may be made Within the scope of what is claimed, without departing from the spirit of the invention.

Figure 1 is' an elevational view of a resilient form constructed in accordance with the invention.

Figure 3 is a perspective View illustrating one of the steps in the tying of the tie around the form.
Figure 4 is a further step in the tying of the tie.
Figure 5 is the final step in tying the tie.
Figure 6 is a view illustrating the tie when tied on the form, the securing band being connected therewith.
Figure 7 is an elevational view of a modified construction of the resilient tie form.
Referring to the drawing in detail, the form embodies a length of wire material bent intermediate its ends to provide a depending loop 5 and lateral arms 6 overlapping each other at 7 so that the arms will move towards-and away from each other when the sides of the loop 5- are compressed and released.
At the ends of the arms 6 are loops'8 definingeyes for-the reception of the-hooks 9 secured at the ends of the elastic band 10 that acts as 'a'securing band to secure the form and 'tie supported: thereon around'th'e neck of the wearer.
As shown by Figure 3, a tie is positioned over the central portion or loop 5 of the form, and resting on the front surface thereof, the tie is then carried rearwardly over the form and brought forwardly from where it passes to the rear of the form, the tie now being pulled tight in a manner as shown by Figure 4.
The tie is then moved around the front portion of the form and up over the back of the form as shown by Figure 5, whereupon the large end of the tie is passed under the loop of the tie, last made, and drawn tight providing a finished knot of the fourin-hand type, as shown by Figure 6.
In the modified form of the invention as shown by Figure 7, the tie form includes a length of wire formed into a loop 11 and arms 12, the arms 12 having loops 13 formed at the ends thereof, the loops being of the key-hole type.
This form of the invention is particularly adapted for use in connection with buttons which may be attached to the inner side of the collar or to the neckband of the collar or to a point adjacent to the front of the collar so that the large portions of the loops 13 may be positioned over the buttons when the sides of the loop 11 have been compressed or moved towards each other, whereupon the sides of the loop '11 are released, causing the arms to move inwardly and bringing the contracted portions of the loops 13 directly under the buttons over which the loops have been positioned, locking the form in position on the buttons without the use ofthe band 10.
It might be further stated that with this form of the invention as well as the form shown by Figure l, the tie may be made into a knot while the loops at the central portions of the forms are compressed slightly, with the result that when the loops are released by the hands of the person tying the knot,

I claim:
1. Atie form including a length of resilient wire bent intermediate its ends to provide a depending enlarged loop and laterally ex tended arms overlapping in parallel relation with each other,said arms having loops at their ends, said enlarged loop defining a base around which a tie may be knotted, and said enlarged loo adapted to exert a lateral pressure on t e knot to hold the knot tight.
2. A tie form including a length of resilient wire bent to provide a central loop portion, the ends thereof defining laterally extended arms, loops'at the ends of the arms,
,the last mentioned loops being of key-hole shape, and having restricted end portions, the last mentioned loops adapted to be positioned over securing buttons, when the central loop portion is compressed, and said arms adapted to move to their normal positlons to bring the restricted portions of the last mentioned loops under the securing buttons. 7
