SIPHON.
Application filed November 3, 1926.
This invention relates to a siphon, the
general object of the invention being to provide means for siphoning water or other liquids from a bottle so that the water can be drawn from the bottle as desired, by simply opening a cock or valve at the lower end of the siphon.
A further object of the invention is to provide means whereby the siphon can be easily removed from one bottle and placed on an specifically pointed out in the appended claim.
In describing my invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying drawings wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the several views, and in which Figure 1 is a view showing the invention in use.

In these drawings, 1 indicates the siphon pipe which is of inverted U' shape, with its shorter limbextending into the bottle A adjacent the bottom thereof and its other limb extending well below the bottom of the bottle, with this longer limb having its extremity bent at right angles, as shown at 2, where it is connected with a faucet or valve 3. A cross piece 4 is connected with the limbs adjacent the point where the pipe is bent to strengthen the device and one end of this cross piece rests upon the cap 5 of the bottle. A U-shaped spring 6 is held to the outer limb of the siphon by a bracket 7 which is connected to the limb by the eyes 8, the spring 6 grippin the bottle and thus holding the siphon firm y in place. It is thought from the foregoing description that the advantages and novel features of my invention will be readily apparent.
I desire it to be understood that I may make changes in the construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, provided that such changes fall within the scope of the appended claim.
lVhat I claim is In combination with a bottle having a cap thereon, a U-shaped pipe having one limb passing through the cap and depending to a point adjacent the bottom ofthe bottle,
the other limb depending to a point exteriorly of the bottle and below the bottom thereof, said second named limb being bent at substantially right angles at its lower end and being provided with a faucet at its outer end, said second named limb passing alongside of the contour of the bottle in close proximity thereto, a Uj-shapedbracketconnected to said outer limb and having a 'U- shaped spring strip at the lower edgethereof bowed to embrace the contour of the bottle, said strip being of thin material and having an elastic lining on the inner surface thereof to contact with the bottle, a cross piece connecting the limbs adjacent the bend connecting the same and adapted to rest on the cap of the bottle.
