This invention relates to decorating devices and .more particularly it pertains to pads for producing a. design on walls or other object.
I One of the objects of my invention is the provision of a pad by which a decorator may simultaneously obtain a stippling effect and produce a design on a freshly painted surface.
With the foregoing object in view, together with such other objects and advantages as may subsequently appear, this i11- vention resides in the construction and arrangement of parts hereinafter described and claimed, and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a plan view of one form of pad of my invention;
Figure 2 is a section taken on line 2-2 of Figure 1;
Figure 3 is a plan view of an alternative form of pad; and
Figure 4 is a section taken on line 4-4 of Figure 3.
Referring to the drawings for a more detailed description thereof, and at first to Figures 1 and 2, the device comprises a holder 7 having a back 8 and spaced therefrom intermediate its ends an arcuate front portion 9 to which is held a pad 10 of superimposed arcuately-shaped, tissue-thin sheets 11. The adjoining sheets are lightly held together by an adhesive, preferably at spaced intervals around their edge portions so that when the pad is pressed against a surface having wet pamt thereon, a sheet will be held by the paint as the pad is removed.
The sheets 11 are herein shown as having the sheets simultaneously produces a stippling effect and a design on the wall.
Coloring matter may be placed on the sheets so that it may be transferred to a painted surface. This coloring matter may also be placed on in the form of a design.

I claim:
1. A pad for the purpose described comprising a holder and a pad proper held thereto, said pad comprising'a plurality of superimposed sheets removably held together, said sheets having a design therein whereby, when applied to a coating of wet paint, at least partof the paint will be re moved and a design produced in the coating of paint.

A pad for the purpose described comprising a holder and a pad proper held thereto, said pad comprising a plurality of superimposed sheets removably held together, said sheets having a design therein whereby,when applied to a coating of wet paint, at least part of the paint will be removed and a design produced in the coating of paint, said sheets being absorbent.

A pad for the purpose described comprising a holder and a pad proper held thereto, saidpad comprising a plurality of superimposed sheets removably held together, said sheets having a design therein whereby, when applied to a coating of wet paint, at least part of the paint will be removed and a design produced in the coating of paint, said sheets being very thin.

A pad for the purpose described comprising a holder and a pad proper held thereto, said pad comprising a plurality of superimposed sheets removably held together, said sheets having a design therein whereby, when applied to a coating of wet paint, at least part of the paint will be removed and a design produced in the coating of paint, said sheets being absorbent and 5.
