The front and rear of the plow are raised simultaneously, for when the` clutch is tripped'into operation and the axle ll rocks and raises the plow, the rod 38, through its connection with the axle 11, is forced rearwardly,` and as it is attached tothe arm 37 on the U-shaped member 35 the latter is rocked 'raising the lrear of the plow, the member 35 operating as a lever-having its fulcrum in the sleeve 34, By this construci tion the parts just vstated are well below the frame levelv and out of the way, and the wheel 10 and its mounting are within thev transverse limit of the structure.
As previously stated the draft bars k50 and 52 are adjustablyA connected for the purpose ofoffsetting the plow from the line of travel of the tractor, the series of holes inv each bar providing forsuch adjust-l ment, and its retention bythe bolt'53. The draft bar 50 andthe'rod 58 aresubstantially parallel, consequently when the plow is offset lfrom the tractor, to operate the" plow close to the trees, the links 55 and 56 are'parallel with the line of advance of the tractor and plow, but if a turn or change in the directionkof travel of the tractor is` made the links 55' and' swingv with the Y pull of thel tractor rocking .the arm 4:5,

` The link 40 is pivotally connected to the casting 39' intermediate the length of the' landward crank of the axle 11, and to one side thereof, and is rigidly attachedtov the forward end of the rod 38 which is pivotally connected tothe arm 37 of the rear wheel mechanism, so that in the adjustment ofthe Vplow, to a greater or lessy depth than that' shown in Figure 2 of thedrawings, the 'position of the rear furrowwlieel is not affected, because the forward pivot of the link 40' by whichit'is connected to the castingl 39is'in an approximately dead centerA relation to the axis about 'which the axle swings when uthe furrow openers are in operative position, and therefore vertical adjustment of the frame within the range required for depth adjustment does not move the link l0 endwise, since the point of connection of said .link withthe casting 39' then moves practically i-n a vertical line, and consequeiitly it does 'not actuate the lever 37 to raise or lower the rear portion of the frame.

In a wheeled plow, the combination with a frame comprising a diagonally disposed beam having forwardly extending side members rigidly connected therewith, and provided with downturned front ends, said members being relatively widely spaced apart, a transversely disposed crank axle pivotally mounted on said frame and having a spindle extending inward under one of the side members thereof, a front furrow ioo l wheel and a land wheel mounted on said axle, a rear furrow wheel on which the rear 'portion of said frame is supported for vertical adjustment, furrow openers carried by said beam, a spreader brace interposed between the downturned front end portions of said beam.members,and devices mounted on said axle between the side members of the frame and adapted to be'actuated by the rotation of the land wheel to rock said axle.
