The pivoted chute is normally unconnected with the bulb operating plunger 41 but is. adapted to be connected thereto whenl a coin of proper denomination is inserted int-he machine. It willy be further evidentthat by organizing theparts in the Vmanner shown Utl uid perfumes or the like,
and described, embodying a simple law of organization or combination, an eiiicient and serviceable (structure is produced which is capable ofbeing manufactured and sold at low cost. In operation the user or consumer is assured at all times of a predetermined While I have shown my' vending machinel in the preferred constructlon, it will be apparentthat numerous changes may be made in the construction or' the parts and the inter-relation of the same without departing from the'spirit ofthe invention defined in Vthe following claims.
I claim: e
1. A vending machine for dispensing liquid perfumes or the like, comprising a casing having a coin opening therein, a yieldable operating member', a pivoted coin chute located entirely within the casing' and adapted to be moved into and out of alinement with the coin opening and normally unconnected to the operating member, mechanism connected to the lower `portion of the chute for moving the same and means whereby a coin deposited in the chute forms a connection between the chute and the operating 1nember,the chute and the said memberbeing associated so that arcuate movement of the chute beyond a predetermined position will disconnect the chute from the member permitting the coin to drop and the member toreturn to itsretracted normal position.
2. `A vending machine for dispensing liquidperfumesor the like,rcomprising a slidable plunger,` a pivoted coin chute normally unconnected to the plunger, a sliding rod -linked'to thelower end of the chute for moving the same and `means whereby a coin deposited n tween the chute and the said plunger, the
chute and the said plunger being associated 4so that arcuate movement of the chute beyond a predetermined position will disconnect the chute from the deposited coin permitting the latter to drop and the plunger to return to its retracted normal position.

A ven-ding machine for dispensing liqcomprising a yieldable operating member, a pivoted vertically swinging coin chute normally unconnected to the operating member, a horizontally slidin the chute forms a connection be-` able rod connected to the chute for moving the same and means whereby a coin deposited in the chute forms a connection beposited in the chute will. form a connection between the chute and the operating member,
the chute and the said member being alsov associated so that arcuate movement of the chute beyond a predeterminedposition will disconnect `the chute from the deposited coin permitting the latter to drop and the meniber to? return to its retracted. normal position.
5. Coin controlled mechanism for a vending machine comprising an operating member, a. pivoted coin chute normally unconnected to the operating member, mechanism linked tothe lower end of the chute for moving the same andmeans whereby a coin deposited inthe chute forms a connection between the chute and the operating member, the chute and the said member being associated so that arcuate movement of the chute beyond a predetermined position 4will disconnect the chute from the deposited coin permitting the latter to drop and the member to return to a normal position.

Coin controlled mechanism for a vending machine comprising a slidableplunger member, a pivoted vertically swingingcoin chute normally unconnected to the said member, horizontally disposed slide rod yconnected to the lower end of the chute for mov- Ving the same and means whereby a coin deposited in the chute forms a connection be- Atweenthe `chute and the plunger member,
the chute and the said member being asso-` ciated so that arcuate movement of the chute to the lower portion `of the chute for moving the same, said member and chute being associated so that when both are in fully retracted position the chute registers with the slot in the member whereby a coin deposited in the chute forms a connection between the chute and the operating member, the chute and the said member being further asso- `beyond a predetermined position will disciated so'that arcuate movement of the chute beyond a predetermined position Will disconynect the chute from the deposited coin permitting the latter to drop and the member to return to a normal position. l
8. Coin controlled mechanism for a vending machine comprising an operating member having a coin slot, a pivoted coin chute normally unconnected to the operating member,.said coin chute being adapted to register with the slot in said member and being provided With a: roller adjacent said slot and mechanism connected to the chute for moving the same. h

Coin controlled mechanism for ar vending machine comprising an operating member having a coin receiving slot, a pivoted coin chute normally unconnected to the operating member, said coin chute being adapt ed to register with the slot in said member and being provided with a roller adjacent said slot, said roller being adapted to press against a coin deposited in the slot to temporarily hold the coin in such slot, and mechanism connected to t-he chute foe" moving the same, the construction being such that when a coin is deposited in thc chute it forms a connection between the chute and the operating member and is held between said roller and the Walls in said slot, the chute and the said member being associated so that arcuate movement of the chute beyond a predetermined position will disconnect t-he chute from the deposited coin permitting the latter to drop and the member to return to a normal position.

Coin controlled mechanism for a vending machine comprising an operating member having a coin receivingslot, a movable coin receiving device normally unconnected to the operating member, said coin receiving device being adapted to register With the slot in said member and being provided with a roller adjacent said slot, said roller being adapted to press against a coin deposited in the slot to temporarily hold the coin in such slot, and mechanism connected to the device for moving the same, the construction being such that when a coin is deposited in the device it forms a connection between the same and the operating member and is held 'between said roller and the Walls of the slot, the said device and member being associated so that movement of the device beyond a predetermined position will effect disconnection of the said device from the deposited coin permitting the latter to drop and the oper- `in said member when both are in full ating member to return to a normal position.

Coin controlled mechanism for a vending machine comprising an operating niember having a coin receiving slot, a movable coin receiving device normally unconnected to the operating member, said coin receiving device being adapted'to register With the slot retracted position and being provided Wlth a roller adjacent said slot, said roller being adapted to piressagainst a coin in the slot to temporarily hold the coin in such slot, means for preventing the coin from moving into position between the device and the member when said device is not in its retracted position and mechanism connected to the said device for moving the same.

Coin controlled mechanism for a. vending machine comprising a frame, a slidable plunger having a. coin receiving slot, pins carried by said frame and associated with the slot in the plunger to form a coin positioning device therefor, movement of said plunger being effective `for removing a coin from said positioning pins, a pivoted chute normally unconnected to the plunger, the said chute being adapted to register with the said slot in the plunger, a roller carried b thechute adjacent the slot, said' roller` eing adapted to press against a coin in the slot to temporarily hold the coin in such slot in the plunger and mechanism connected to the chute for moving the same. j Y

Coin cont-rolled mechanism for a. vending machine comprising a frame, a slidable plunger having a. coin receiving slot, pins carried by said frame and associated with the slot in the plunger to form a coin positioning device therefor, movement of said plunger being eect-ive for removing a coin from said positioning pins, a pivoted chuteno'n mally unconnected to the plunger, the said chute being adapted to register with the said slot in the plunger, a roller carried by the chute adjacent the slot in the plunger, said roller being adapted to press against a coin in the slot to temporarily hold such coin in such slot, mechanism connected to the chute for moving the same yand means for preventing movement of a coin into cooperation between the chute and the slot when the chute is not in its fully retracted position.
