EDWARD JACKSON SAUL, OF DENNISTOUN, GLASGOW, SCOTLAND.
GAME APPARATUS.
Application filed March 17, 1927, Serial No.
My invention relates to improvements in toys or appliances for playing games, and has for its object to provide one of a very interesting and amusing nature, and which I propose to be known as Atsandeds.
In carrying out my invention, I provide two spindles of an convenient length and on each of which t iere is suitably mounted a series of sprocket wheels or such like at suitable distances apart on whichthere are carried an endless platform made up of suitable links suitably connected together. These spindles are supported on suitable standards of different heights and rest in ball bearings so that the platforms will lie at an angle or slope in the direction of their travel.
Suitably attached to each moving platform and in staggered fashion there are the representations of large grotesque figures. Different designs and colours of hats are also provided and so loaded as to properly balance, stationary large grotesque figures being also placed in front of the appliance.
The apparatus can be operated by hand, electric or other power provided for the purpose.
In order that my invention may be properly understood and readily carried into effect, I have hereunto appended one sheet of drawings, of which Figure 1 is a front elevation illustrating my invention, with a few only of the grotesque figures shown.
Figure 2 in a side elevation.
Figure 3 isa plan of Figure 1.
Figure 4 is a view of two different forms of hats.
Referring to the drawings, A and B are the spindles and C the sprocket wheels 176,238, and in Great Britain June 1a, 1926.
mounted on the spindles A and B. D are the endless platforms and E and F are the standards on which ball bearings L and M carry the spindles A and B. G are the large grotesque figures suitably connected to the moving platform D. H are pillars in front of the moving platform D to which large grotesque figures I are also attached. N is the pulley suitably attached to the spindle Bin order to drive the appliance. J and K are two forms of hats loaded at the base with rubber tubing over which the material is stitched and forms a rim for the hat.
The players are provided with many hats and, while the platform is in motion or while it may be temporarily stopped, the player attempts to throw a hat on the head of one of the figures.
I claim:
1. Toys or appliances for playing games, characterized in the provision of two spindles, sprocket wheels or such like mounted thereon at suitable distances apart, travelling ondless platforms carried on the sprocket wheels, suitable staiulards of different heights on which ball-bearings carry or support said spindles, large grotesque figures suitably attached to the travelling platforms and preferably in staggered fashion, combined with a hat loaded at the base with rubber tubing over which the material is stitched forming a rim tor the hat.
2. Toys or appliances for playing games as in claim 1, cl'iaracterized by the provision of pillars or such like in front of the device to which there are suitably attached fixed grotesque figures.
In witness whereof I allix my signature.
EDWARD JACKSON SA UL.
