.This invention relates to spark plugs with particular reference to such as are used for igniting 'gaseous fuel in internal combustion engines as employed in motor cars, etc., the
5 same being partly a continuation and partly 5 improvements on applications filed by Frank Bizzarro on November 26, 1923,`Serial No. 676,978. f
Such plugs have'been, in the past, made. of substantially unitary construction so that after functioning `for a while, they would accumulate a deposit of carbon reducing their eciency;
In order to remove the carbon, it was necessary to either dismantle the plug'entirely or, at least,vdisengage the plug from the cylinder head. V
Another disadvantage of existing devices of this type is that there is no external, visible lmeans to indicate that the plug is not' functioning in a `proper manner, so that if the engine was not running as it should, `it was difficult to locate the fault..
It is therefore the main object of this in-V vention to provide a plug of. the character described in which the body is made of sections permittingv ready dismounting to permit internal cleaning. y
A further object is in the provision of la double-ended reversible electrode, withdrawable as a unit from the lug without disengaging the latter from t e cylinder head of the motor.
A' still further aim is to provide a spark plug so designed as to permit of a minimum amount of carbon accumulating around the electrodes.
Another featureis to Yprovide means whereby the gap between the electrodes ma be readily adjusted to meet varied condl- .,tions. v
These several objects are attained by the novel construction, combination and arrangement `of arts hereinafter described .and illustrated 1n the accompanyin -drawing, forming a material portion of xis disclosure and in which Fig. 1, is a side elevational view of the plug made in accordance with this invention.

`In the drawing, the numeral 5 generally designates a chambered body having threads 6 near its lower end by which the'same is engageable in the cylinder head of a conventional internal combustion engine.
The body is provided with a seat lined with a rubber vgasket 7, on which rests the shoulder 8 of a porcelain insulator 9, held in the body by .a clamping nut 10, contacting with a second rubber gasket 11, on the upper surface of the shoulder 8.
Mounted in the top of the insulator 9 is-a metal brushingf12, moulded into the insula' tor 'and into which is threaded a socket 13 provided with a knurled head, 14, above which is an integral, threaded `stem 15, engageable with a binding nut 16.
The lower converged end of the insulator 9 has moulded therein a second smaller metallic brushing 17, and passing through an axial bore in the insulator, is an electrode 18 FFIcE.

-The lower end of the body 5 is provided with a reduced annular band 24, engaging a ring 25, formed on a cap 26 provided with diametrically opposite openings 27 o enly; communicating with the combustion c amber of the cylinder, the cap being held in a rigid position'b athreaded electrode 28 engaglng the ban 24 and ring 25 and having a terminal 29 formed on its inner end spaced lfrom the terminal 19 forming a shght gap therebetween.
