Another object includes the production of construction which will fully protect the material but which adordsready ineansfor dispensing said material with ease, and certain in controlled quantities.

I further provide a container or the type specified, which is provi ed with effective control parts in the form of a movable bottom portion, which cooperates with an adjustable discharging device and means varying the relative distances of-said parts from the discharging end or the container, and from each other.
Other objects will appear hereinafter, and I attain these objects by the construction illustrated by the. accompanying drawing, in which Fig. 1 is a. plan view of a construction which embodies the principles of my invention.

If material is to be dispensed, the cap is removed and a slight pres'air given to the containerb-etore lifting it trom the table or shelf to extrude the desired quantity, or the thimble is pressed while the container is properly held, so as to supply the ointment, grease, or cream to the desired This pressure acting through the stem also causes the plunger to rotatively advance thereon to force material from the nozzle. When the cap, and of course, the plunger-,have advanced so that the edge of the container engages the bottom of the cap, a readjustment of the stem is necessary. This readjustment is accomplished in the manner stated, by giving the cap and stem (or the stem only) a few turns, as will. read ily be understood. The plunger or adjust able distributing member is gradually advanced to its extreme position in the top of the container. Usually the plunger is advanced but once. If, however, the container is to be refilled, this may be readily accomplished by withdrawing the cup and attached parts, including the piston member, and refilling the container by supplying the semi-fluid material. In case a powdery material is used, as tooth or soap powder, the container is preferably refilled by supplying the material in bags or charges, which are In such construcused as required. The bag may be paper or other material., and the entire charge and bag may be placed into the container, with the end towards the nozzle open.
Having now described my invention, what I claim as new and useful, and desirecto secure by Letters Patent, is: I

In a dispensing container for semifluids, powders and like materials, the com bination of a body part open at one end and having a discharge nozzle, operatine' member slidably engaging the w lls of said body part, a dispensing member in said body part, and means for varying the relative distance between the dispenc member and the bottom oi the operating member to effect ejection of the contained material from the body part. f
