IMPROVEMENT IN MOP-WRINGERS.

Specifioation forming part of Letters Patent No. 165349, dated July 27, 1875; application filed December l, 1874.

Be it known that I, MICHAEL REGAN, of Ganastota, Madison county, State of New York, have inveted certain Improvements in Mop-Wringers, of which the following is a specifieation The object of my invention is to provide for a combined tub and mop-wringer which is so constructed that clean water for immersing the mop is kept in one separate compartnent, while the dirty water, wrung by aid of the wringer out of the nop, is collected in another separate conpartment.

My ivention consists in constructing, by preference, an oval tub, which is partitioned oft' in the center by a vertical partition placed between the two arrow sides of the tub. To the top of the tub, over one of the Compartments, is the wringer fastened, which consists of one roller rotating in journals fastened to the top of the tub near to the center partition, and another roller rotating in journals fastened to the end of springs having arms pivoted in journzls, which are fastened to the top and the outer sides of the tub. By this arrangenent the last-mentioned roller may be elevated, so as to readily place the mop between the rollers.

By depressing the roller either with the hand or the foot, the operator, drawing the mop toward himself, removes easily the dirty water from the nop and deposits the same in the compartment over which it is held. The aforementioned springs serve to press the rollers together when the mop is draw through them.

' After this process the mop is inmersed into the second compartment, containing the clean water.
