Application. filed January The invention relates to hatracks particularly adapted for use by automobilists and has for its object to provide an annular hat receiving member which member is provided with an arm hingedly connected to the side of an automobile bow, and with. a second arm, to which is connected a coiled spring which in turn is connected to a member carried by the adjacent bow oi? the top, said coiled spring forms means whereby the brim of the hat will be maintained adjacent the top of the automobile and at the same time allows the annular member to be moved downwardly for ren'ioving or replacing the hat.

A further object is to form the device from two pieces of wire having segmentally shaped portions terminating in portions twisted together, and which twisted portions terminate'in oppositely extending arms pivotally mounted in apertures of a bracket carried by the bow. The other ends oi the segmentally shaped members terminate in radially disposedengaging arms which are clamped together, and one oi: which arms extends beyond the other, and terminates in an eye for the reception of one end of the SPIIR With the above and other objects in view the invention resides in the combination and arrangement of parts as hereinafter set forth,

From the above it will be seen that an automobile hatrack is provided for automobile tops, which is simple in construction, the parts reduced to a minimum, and one which may be cheaply manufactured and sold as the main parts (it the body are formed from wire. It will also be seen that the hatrack will POSltlVely support a hat in a position where it will. not be d amaged, and where it can be readily reached when dc sired.

The invention having been set forth what is claimed as new and useful is 1- A hat raclr co]uprising an annular hat crown receiving member, said crown receiving member being; formed from oppositely lull disposed :"egrinentally shaped members, one pair of ends of the segnientally sha 'ied menu hers terminating in a portion twisted together thereby forming a radially disposed arm, the

ends of the members forming the radially disposed arm terminating in oppositely extending arms, said arms being pivotally mounted in apertures of a bracket, the other 5 ends of the segmentally shaped members terminating in engaging radially disposed arms, one of said last named arms being longer than the other, means for clamping said arms together, the long arm terminating in an eye and an anchored coiled spring connected to said eye.
