Each side unit 17, 18, it will be seen, consists, conveniently though not es sentially, of a standard I-beam or longitudi-- v nal 20, that is cut away and shaped as later on fully plained, with a sub-plate 21 welded to t e fore basalflanges thereof at I 22, as well as rigidly united by spot weld ings23,-through said basal flanges at each side of the web thereof. Thus it will be seen that the side units 17 18 are-rigidly supported and connected to the tractor 5 1na manner effectively precluding any tendency to lateral or other displacement while affording rearwardly extendlng stable support for the compressor 13. said angles or channels 30 being cutaway and shaped at their forward ends to provide eye-pieces 32 which are bolted or otherwise'secured at 33 to the flange of the juxtaositioned axle housing 6, as clearly shown in Figure II. Attention is also directed to the-fact that I additionally unite the brace members 30 rigidly to the base flanges of the I-beams' 20 by spot weldings 3 1Figure III.
Referring now to the rear transverse member 19, the same is conveniently cut from a standard channel section to snugly seat at 35Fi ure' III-{between the upper and lower' anges of the I-beams 20, and it has angle clips 36Figure IVwelded thereto I by means of which it is secured in place between the side units'17, 18 through the 'me-. dium of bolts 37. Thus it will be readily seen that the side units 17 18 are-trans- Lverselybraced in a rigid manner at their -rear ends, and thereby aflord a. secure bearing for the compressor 13 which is mounted thereon and secured in place by bolts 38- Figure II' passing through holes 39 in-the.

As the specific form of unit illustrated in- -volves a storage tank 40 for the compressed air produced y the compressor 13, I afford chock spacerstherefor in the form of transversely disposed angle irons 41, 42 of suflicient length. These angle irons 41, 42, it will 'be seen, extend beyond the side lines of the v integrally welded at 43 to the top flange of attachment frame '16, and' the former 41jis the transverse member 19, while the latter has an 1e clip 44 welded thereto with, ro-' vision or bolting connection 45 to the a oresaid I-beams 20, as will be readily understood. additional transverse channels" ber detachably eonnec From the foregoing it will be seen that the attachment frame 16 extends rearwardly from the tractor 5, and that it forms and constitutes a rigid support for the compressor 13 which is. operated by a direct rive connecting shaft 48Figure IIfrom the tractor transmission, and that it can be connected 1 or disconnected from operation therefrom by the lever 12, aforesaid.
From the foregoing description, taken in connection with the-accompanying drawings, the construction and manner-of mounting or dismantling my novel attachment frame .will be well understood without further detailed explanation,- while its ready adaptability for compact shipment is selfeviderit.
Furthermore, changes inftheform, proportions andminor details, obviously, may be made within the scope of my invention with-- out do arting from the spirit or sacrificing any 0 the advantages thereof," particularly in so far as the cutting away of the Lbeam '-20 flanges is concerned to conform to different types. of prime movers, as well as tov accomodate other utilities than that specifically illustrated. Accordingly the rightis hereby reserved to, make all such reasonable changes as are fairly circumscribed by the scope of the subjoined claims.
Having described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is: '1

An attachment frame of the type described comprising spaced, I-beams having their forward lower flanges. reinforced by co-planar sub-plates with the rear ends transversely vcpnnected bya detachable standard section, and obliquely disposed bracing members rigidly secured to the rear lower flanges of said I-beams. v

An attachment frame of the type described comprising spaced I-beams having at their forward ends sub-plates integrally united to the lower flanges thereof, said I- beams and sub-plates being respectively shaped to mount a work unit and configured for attachment to the crank-case of a standard tractor, a transverse channel-member detachably connecting the rear ends of the I-beams, and obliquely disposed bracing members integrally attached to the rear lower flanges of said I'-beams.

An attachment frame of the type described comprisingspaeed I-bcams having at their forward ends sub-plates integrally ;united to the lower flanges thereof, said I- .beams and sub-plates being respectively shaped to mount a Work unit and configured for attachment to the crank-case of a standard tractor, a transverse channel-member having its ends shaped to engage between the flanges ofand be detachably connected to the rear end Webs of the I-beams, and obliquely disposed standard-section bracings in-' tegrally united to the rear lower flanges of and apertured to constitute eye-pieces forv connection to the tractor rear axle housings.

An attachment frame of the type described comprisin spaced I-beams having sub-plates integra ly united to the lower flanges at one end thereof, said I-beams and sub-plates 1 being respectively shaped to mount and conform with a work unit and coordinated tractor, a transverse channel-member having an inverted angle section chock welded longitudinally of its upper flange and similarly connected clips integral with the web whereby the rear ends of the I-beams are detachably connected, and obliquely disposed standard-section braces integrally united to the rear lower flanges of said I- beams with their free ends affording eyeieces for attachment to the tractor rear axle ousings. 8. An attachment frame of the type de scribed comprising spaced I-beams having sub-plates integrally united to the lower flanges at one end thereof, said I-beams and sub-plates being respectively shaped to mount and conform with a work unit and coordinated tractor, 'a transverse channel-member having an inverted angle section chock welded longitudinally of its upper flange and united to the rear lower flange at the other end with the free end thereof fashioned into eye-piece formation.

As a unit for attachment frames of the type described, an I-beam having a sub-plate integrally secured co-planar to the lower flange at one end thereof, and an obliquely disposed standard-section brace similarly united to the rear lower'flange at the other end with the free end thereof fashioned into eye-piece formation, the aforesaid I-beam and sub-plate having their longitudinal edges shaped and configured for the purposes hereinbefore set fort In testimony whereof I afiix my signature the eighteenth day of July, 1925.
