This invention rela tes to a hypodermic case and it an object of the invention to pro:- vide a case of this typo especially adapted for use in hospitals and which serves to facilitate supplying, handling and indexing of the glass vials containing the numerous liypoderinic tablets commonly .used in medi,- cal practice whereby is materially facilitated and expedited the administering of hypo.- dermic doses to the patients. f

The invention consists in the details of construction Yand in the combination and ai rangement of the seveij'al parts vof my improved -hypodermic case whereby certain important advantages are attained andthe dejl vice rendered simpler, less .expensive vand otherwise more convenient and advantageous for use, as will be. hereinafterl more fully. set forth.

The novel' features of my invention will hereinafter be definitely claimed.

ln order that my invention may be the better understood, l will now proceed to de-V scribe tlie same with reference to the accompanying drawings, wherein Figure l is a. View in elevation illustrating a hypodermic case constructed in accordance with an embodiment of my invention;

The openings t are, therefore, divided into groups, each group containing a different drug and indexed as morphine sulphate, strychnine sulphate, atropine sulphate, etc., and each open- C ing ofcertain groups is further indexed as te the amountof drug contained in each tablet as 1/2 gr.; l@ g.; gr.; etc.

Above the deck or table 5 and preferably at a corner portion of the case C is provided a compartment 9 in which is adapted to be stored a hypoderinic syringe and needles when not in use. The deck or table 5 provides a bottom for this compartment 9 and such bottom portion has disposed therethrough the recesses l0 in which the needles are inserted and-kept when not in use.

Vhen the Vscrews 7 are applied the table 5 and the plate 2 are secured in their proper positions within the case C. When the screws 7 are removed the table 5 and the plate 2 may be extracted from the case 3- in that the interior of the case may be scoured. Should thelock M be of such transverse breadth as to interfere with the vertical lifting of the table and the plate out of the case the said parts may be tilted and worked around the lock as they are being extracted or the sides of the case may be flexed or (ill .order that the said parts may be cleaned andl sprung slightly in order to provide ample clearance to permit of the removal of the parts.

'The usefulness of my improved hypo'- dermic case is believed obvious to anyone familiar with the practice of medicine. In the manner nov7 generally employed, when hypodermic treatment is to be given, the nurse is required to go to a nonportable cabinet to get the prescribed tablet and search through a. large number of vials Which are not generally kept in any systematic order. This results in loss of much valuable time even in cases of emergency When human life depends upon the immediate administration of the proper drug.

Viith the use of the invention as herein set fo-rth, the nurse has the case close at hand and when a hypodermic is required opens the lid, glances at the index and takes out the vial containing the required tablet. This can be further verified by reading the label applied directly to the vial.

From the foregoing description it is thought to be obviousv that a hypodermic ycase constructed in accordance With my invention is particularly well adapted for use by reason of the convenience and facility With which it may be assembled and operated, and it Will also be obvious that my inlimiting myself to the precise arrangement r? and formation of the several parts herein shown in carrying out my invention in practice except as hereinafter claimed.

I claim Y A hypodermic case comprising a container having side Walls vertically disposed with relation to its bottom Wall, a bottom plate fitting snugly between the side Walls and resting upon the bottom Wall Vof the container, lsaid bottom plate being provided at its upper surface With spaced pockets, a deck plate adapted to lit snugly between the side Walls of the container, legs carried by the deck plate and resting uponthe bottom plate, said deck plate having spaced openings which register vertically with the pock- Y ets in the bottom plate, and detachable securing devices passing through the side Walls of the container and entering the edge portions of the deck plate.V
