UNITED STATES PATENT oFFICE- CHARLES M. COLE, OF OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA.
WAFFLE IRON.
" Application led August 16, 196. Serial No. '129,525.
ment of parts hereinafter described and claimed, and illustrated in the accompanying drawing.
The drawing shows in side elevation a waiiie iron of three co-operating sections, the same being in open position. In more detail the Waflle iron comprises mold sections 3, 4 and 5, with adjacent mold Sections at their rear ends, as indicated` at 7 and 8, so that they may be separated asv shown in the drawing, when raised by means of the handles 10 which are perforated so that theyV Will-not become toohot. v
The sections 3 and 5 are provided respectively vvith mold surfaces 3a and 5", While the mold section 4 is provided with opposing mold surfaces 4a and 4b, which respectively co-operate with the mold surfaces 3a and 5a. Electrical conductors 12, 13, 14 and 15 are provided for heating the molds. The elec-A trical conductors 12 and 13 are in series with each other, while the electrical conductors 14 and lvare inseries with each other. The electrical conductors 12 and 13 are in parallel with the conductors 14 and l5. The terminals of the electrical conductors are secured toa selective switch 17. To the switch 16 is connected a power line 18. The switch 17 isl adapted to turn the electrical current on to i e heat either the conductors 14 and 15 at one time, or all of the conductors simultaneously.
It will be noted that the sections 3, 4 and 5 in their normal positions are superimposed upon each other. This arrangement prol vides for greater economy of the heat derived from the electrical current, as will be readily appreciated.
While I have described one embodiment of my invention, modifications thereof may be readily devised Without departing from the spirit of my invention, and it is to be understood that such `modiications come Within the scope of the appendedv claim.
A waile iron comprising at least three superposed mold sections adapted to be electrically heated, the intermediate section having mold. surfaces on lits upper and 'lower surfaces respectively.A
CHARLES M. COLE.
