UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ADOLF MONTAN, OF MONTCLAIR, NEW JERSEY, ASSIGNOR TO EASTERN TOOL & MFG. (30., OF BLOOMFIELD, NEW JERSEY.
. SLIDE.
Application filed March 24, 1927.
The invention herein described relates to a slide for suspenders and overall straps, in
fact any strap to which adjustment is to be made, the slide being made of two pieces of 5 wire bent to form two members which are assembled to form a slide of rigid construction and with a bracing of the parts to prevent distortion under strain. 7
The invention is illustrated in the accom- 10 panying drawing in which Figure 1 .is a front view of my improved slide, Figure 2 is a side view thereof. Figure 3 is a top view and Figure 4 is a section on line 4-4 in Figure 2.
In making the slide one piece of wire is formed into a loop with a lower strand 10, which forms the central strand of the slide, side strands 11 and 12 and a pair of strands close together to form a double strand 13. 2 A second wire is bent into a U-shaped piece with a bottom strand 1 1, and side strands 15.
This second member is narrow and higher than the first member and is placed against 25 it so that the strand 1O rests against the sides 15. The latter are just inside the strands 11 and 12 and are looped at the,

top as at 16 to embrace the double strand at its ends. The double strand has the ends of the wire terminating at about the inside dithe loop with its ends looped around the overlapping strands adjacent the ends thereof.
2. A slide consisting of a piece ofvwire bent into a rectangular loop with its ends bent to form a double strand at the top, with the ends of the wire terminating at the inner dimension of the loop, and a. second wire bent into a U-shaped piece lying against the first loop and extending below it, the second wire having its ends looped around the ends of the double strand.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature.
ADOLF MONTAN.
