This invention relates to improvements 1n snow-plows and has for its primary object to provide a device of this character that.

Mounted at the opposite sides of the houssaid chain lengths 44-44 obviously tendlng ing 9 are snow cutting reels 27--27 that serve to permit the plow and tractor to pass between kthe snow anks without interference, said reels consisting each of a vertically inclined shaft 28 suitably journaled at its opposite ends and being equipped at its upper end with a beveled gear 29 that is in mesh with a beveled gear `30 upon the forward end of a shaft 31 extending along the adjacent sides of the housing and being equipped at its rear end with a beveled gear 32. The gears 32 of the shafts 31 are in mesh with beveled gears 33-33 upon the ends of a shaft 34 which is arranged in parallel relation with the heretofore described beams 12-12 and is journaled at its opposite ends within suitable bearings arranged upon the beam connecting bars 13-,13'A Said shaft 34 is equipped with a spur gear 35 adjacent its right hand end, the teeth of which are in mesh with the teeth of a similar gear 36 upon the heretofore mentioned shaft 19 in order that when said shaft 19 is rotated by reason of the `power take off -shaft of the tractor such rotation willY be imparted to the shafts 31 and consequently the cuttingv reels 27-27 will be operated for a purpose heretofore described. v
Mountedl beneath the fan housing supporting bars 8 is a horizontal board 37 to thecenter of which is pivoted .as at 38 a horizontal skid-board 39 'equipped at its outer ends with sleigh runners l1()-40. The pivotal` connection 38' between said boards 37 and 38 extends-loosely between cross slots yin the respective boards as clearly disclosed in Figures 2, 5 and 6, said slots permittin the skid to have a limited transverse and longitudinal sliding movement to facilitate the proper steering of the low when the front steering wheels of t e tractor are turned in a manner hereinafter more fully described.
Secured to the rear ends of the runners of the skidare the forward ends of chain lengths 41-41 which chain lengths are extended diagonally .across the under side of the plow in opposite directions and are then trained over pulleys 42-42 supported from the depending arms 7 a's shown in Figures 2 and 5. The chain lengths are then extended diagonally beneath the plow in opposite directions and are secured at their inner ends to arms L1:3-43 that are attached to the wheels supporting spindles of the tractor fronty steering wheel in order that when saidp wheels are turned for steering the tractor, a corresponding movement of the in similar directions with that of the tractor.
The forward ends of the runners 40-40 of the skid have connection with chain lengths 44--44 that are extended inwardly and toward the front end of the housing 9 at which point they are anchored as at 45,

Having thus described the invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:-
1. In a snow plow for tractors, a pair of horizontal frame -bars secured at their inner ends to the forward ends of the tractor chassis bars, the outer ends of said frame bars being disposed downwardly and thence forwardly, the forwardly projecting ends of the frame bars being inclined downwardly, snow gathering Imeans mounted on'` the inclined forwardly projecting ends of said frame bars,vmeans whereby said snow gathering means may be operated by the tractor ower plant, a board mounted trans-- versely eneath the inclined forwardly projecting ends ofthe frame bars, an underlying board, runners at the outer ends of said underlying board, a pivotal connection between said boards, and means for connecting the runners to the tractor steeringwheels for facilitating the steering of the runners.v
2. In a snow plow for tractors, a pair of horizontal frame bars secured attheir inner ends to the forward ends of the tractor chassis bars, the outer ends yof said frame bars being disposed downwardly and thence l forwardly, the forwardly projecting ends of the frame bars being inclined downwardly, snow-gatherin means mounted on the inclined forwar ly projecting ends 'of said frame bars, means whereby said snow gathering means may be operated by the tractor power plant, a oard mounted transversely eneaththe inclined forwardly projecting ends of the frame bars, an underlying board,
