GOLF TEE.

My invention relates to golf tees. It is the object of my invention to provide a golf tee, which may be firmly embedded 1n the ground in such a manner that the transverse and upward stroke of the club in removing the ball from the tee will not extract the tee from the ground so that the small tee will become lost in the grass.

Accordingly, it is my object to provide a tee which can be screwed into the ground and which will provide spaces between the threads of the screw or theprojections on the shaft of the ground attaching means that the soil will enter therebetween and serve to firmly retain the golf tee in pos1- tion. l

Referring to the type shown in Figure 4, 1 is a square head having a golf ball supporting surface 3 while the shaft 5 is tapered to a point 8, but instead of the spaced independent rings 6 I haVe provided a continuous. screw thread 9 with a sharp edge 10 of descending diameter to facilitate the screwing of the tee into the ground, which is particularly effective where there are stones or other obstructions which may resist the penetration of the tee into the ground.

It will be understood that I desire to comprehend within my invention such modifications as may be necessary to adapt it to varying conditions and uses.
