My invention relates to novel trusses and more particularly to that type designed for the treatment of hemorrhoids or piles. The invention comprises the novel arrangement and combination of the component parts of a rectal supporter for piles, as hereinafter fully set forth and claimed.

It has for its objects to provide an inexpensive, efficient, and comfortable device Hi adaptable to furnish proper the afiected parts so as to prevent protruding; to furnish a convenient and ever-ready source of medication; to provide a wind breaking provision for the greater comfort and convenience of the wearer; and to provide the various other advantages and results made apparent from the following specification. I

l accomplish the objects of my invention as shown in the accompanying drawings, which form a part of these specifications, and in which Figure 1 shows a perspective view of my device applied in use. Figure 2 shows a perspective view of my device removed. Figure 3 shows a longitudinal sec tional view through the supporting member. Figure 4: shows a detailed view of the supporting member.

In Figures 1 and 2, A shows a belt of any 30 suitable material and of suflicient length to embrace the waist of the user. The buckle B allows the size of the belt to be varied to suit changing requirements. D shows the holding strap designed to pass from the back of the belt A down through the crotch and up to the front of said belt. The buckle B allows proper adjustment. On the strap D is carried the supporting member E. Referring to Figures 3 and 4, F shows the wind breaker. G shows signed to befilled with a suitable ointment.

H shows a longitudinal bore in the member E, adaptable to receive the holding strap D and to allow free movement thereon.

I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States 'of America:

1. A truss comprising a supporting member normally adapted to bear against the rectum, and a harness for retaining the same on the body of awearer and including a crotch strap, the said supporting member having an opening therethrough to loosely receive the crotch strap to movably retain said member thereon, another opening communicating with the first opening, and said member adapted to be moved from its normal position when desired to register said opening with the rectum for the purpose defined. v i

A truss comprising a supporting member formed with an opening therethrough and said member normally adapted to be p0- sitioned to bear against the rectum, and a harness for retaining the same on the body of a wearer and including a crotch strap. adapted to pass through the, opening in the supporting member to movably retain the member thereon, said supporting member having another opening therein communicating with the first opening and said member adapted to be moved on said crotch strap from its normal position when desired 'to register said latter opening with the rectum, and a recess for receiving a medicated pad.

3. A truss comprising an elongated supporting member formed with an opening from end to end thereof and said member adapted to be normally positioned to bear against the rectum, and a harness for retaining the same on the body of the wearer and including a crotch strap adapted to be in in) passed through the opening in the supporting member to loosely retain the same thereon, said supporting member having another opening therein communicating at right angles With the first opening, and a recess on the opposite side of said member from said latter opening for receiving a medicated pad said member adapted to be moved from its normal position to register either said pad or said latter opening with the rectum 10 for the purpose defined.
