Application filed March 24, 1927. Serial No. 177,951.
This invention relates generally to electrical display devices, and has more particular reference to an electrical flag.
The invention has for an object the provision of an electrical flag of novel attractive structure, and which can be manufactured and sold at a reasonable cost.
For further comprehension of the invention and of the objects thereof, reference will be had to the following description and accompanying drawings and to the appended claims in which the various novel features of the invention are more particularly set forth.

The reference numeral lOindicates generally a portion of a wall having bracket 11 secured thereto. A post 12 has one end resting in the bracket 11, and is tilted obliquely upwards, and thus held by supporting members 13 attached to the wall 10 and to the posts. The top side of the post 12 is provided with a plurality of lamps 14, yellow in color to simulate a flag post. A large end bulb 15 is positioned at the free end of the post 12, and is preferably white in color to simulate the end ball customarily on flag posts.
A plurality of cleats 16 are attached to the bottom side of the post 12, and near the ends thereof, to accommodate thirteen pairs of wires 17 arranged in progressively sagging rows, clearly shown in Fig. 1. A plurality of light bulbs 18, blue in color, are attached to these sagging wires, at the front portion of the flag, and arranged substantially, seven on each wire for about the first seven wires, counting the wire most remote from the post 12, as wire one, so as to substantiate forty-ei ht stars in a field of blue. ranged on the remaining space of the said sagging wires, so as tosubstantiatc red and white stripes. All the bulbs 18, 19, and 20 are arranged to hang downwardly from the wires in a uniform fashion.

Referring in particular to Figs. 4 and 5, post 12 is formed with a T-shaped groove 23 comunicating with its bottom side, and adaptedto slidably engage T-shaped extensions 24, from cleats 16', the sides of these extensions being formed with a plurality of niches 25 engageable by set screws 26 in the side of the post 12' to lock the cleats 16, in longitudinally adjusted positions relative to the post, so that a proper setting may be obtained to form the progressively sagging arrangement of the wires 17 While I have illustrated and described the preferred form, construction and arrangement of the several elements employed, it will be understood that the device is nevertheless, susceptible of considerable modification therein, and I therefore reserve the privilege of resorting to all such changes as may be fairly embodied within the/spirit and scope of the invention as claimed.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by United States Letters Patent is: v
1. In adevice of the class described, a post, a plurality of lamps on the top side thereof, a plurality of wires arranged in progressively sagging rows on the bottom side thereof, and lamps connected to the wires.
2. In a device of the class described, a

In combination with a wall, a bracket secured thereto, a post resting in the bracket and tilted obliquely upwards supporting members attached to the wall and the post, a plurality of yellow lamps on the top side of the post, a large lamp at the end of the post, a plurality of cleats attached to the bottom side of the post, and near the ends thereof, thirteen wires attached to the cleats, and arranged in progressively sagging rows, and lamps attached to the sagging wires, and arranged to hang downwards, the lamps on the sag ing wires being colored and arranged to slmulate a flag.
5. In a device of the class described, a post tilted obliquely upwards, a plurality of yellow lamps on the top side of the post,
a large lamp at the end of the post, a plurality of cleats attached to the bottom side of the post, and near the ends thereof, thirteen wires attached to the cleats, and arranged in progressively sagging rows. and lamps attached to the sagging wires, and arranged to hang downwards, the lamps on the sagging wires being colored and arranged to simulate a flag.

In a device of the class described, a post tilted obliquely upwards, a plurality of lamps on the top side of the post, a large lamp at the end of the post, a plurality of cleats attached to the bottom side of the post, and near the ends thereof, wires at tached to the cleats, and arranged in progressively sagging rows, and lamps attached to the saggin wires, and arranged to hang downwards, t 1e lamps on the sagging wires pleing colored and arranged to simulate a 7. In a device of the class described. a post tilted obliquely upwards, a plurality of yellow lamps on the top side of the post, a large lamp at the end of the post, a plurality of cleats attachedto the bottom side of the post, and near the ends thereof, thirteen wires attached to the cleats, and arran ed in ro ressivel sa in rows and D '5 Ch 7 post tilted obliquely upwards, and formed with a T-shaped groove, communicating with its bottom side, cleats with T-shaped extensions slidably engaged in the T- lamps attached to the sagging wires, and

In combination with a wall, a post supported thereto, a plurality of lamps on the. top side of the post, a large lamp at the end of the post, a plurality of cleats attached to the bottom side of the post, and near the ends thereof, thirteen wires at tached to the cleats, and arranged in progressively sagging rows, and lamps attached to the sagging wires, and arranged to hang downwards, the lamps on the sagging wires ilieing colored and arranged tosimulate a 11. In a device of the class described, a post tilted obliquely upwards, a'plurality of lamps on the post, a; large lamp at the end of the post, a plurality of cleats attached to the bottom side of the post, and near the ends thereof, wires attached to the cleats, and arranged in progressively sagging rows, and lamps attached to the sagging wires, and arranged to ban downwards, the lamps on the sagging wires being colored and arranged to simulate a flag.
