Extended horizontally across the shell at a point spaced an inch or more from the lowermost porti.onthereof is a .strap or bridge ymember 14, t-he extreme ends of which are `curved downwardly and inwardly, as at 15,

A series of approximately semi-circular dev 'llectingl or light battling members 17 are lolis a front elevation of my nnf cated within the shell 10 and are secured in place by having barbs or projections 18 formed on their ends and inserted through 'f openings or slots in the strap 14; and ythen bent over, being soldered or welded in place, it desired, to afford added rigidity. Each of the members 17 have different diameters and are struck y from different radii, the smaller having its center near the lowermost portion of the shell 10 and the centers being shifted upwardly as will be readily apparent upon inspection of Figure 2. The members 17 are all inclined inwardly and outwardly, being of approximately conical shape andthe dista-nce between the members being substantially equal at their ends secured to the strap 14 but being increased from the small member to the larger member at their medial portions. Y
With the structure delined the rays of light being thrown upwardly from the rellector 6 strike the members 7 and are either entirely eliminated or directed forwardly and downwardly onto the road if the members 7 are polished and the rays of light normally directed forwardly and downwardly by the reflector 6 are nninterfered with, extending forwardly onto the rod with full strength. This is possible by reason of the angle of the members 17. As will be apparent, the outeranost member 17 has its medial Vportionspaced from the top of the shell a distance greater thanthe distance between the members 17 as the rays of light passing therebetween are inclined forwardly yand downwardly, and the disturbing rays of light being thrownfbetween the strap 14 and the bottom ofthe shell 10 are entirely eliminated preferably by making that portion of the glass front 13m a line therewith opaque, as at 19. The opaque portion 19 may be made lby directly coating the glass front or by attaching a name plate or the like thereover.`
From the foregoing description takenin connection with the accompanying drawing it'will be yreadily apparent to those skilled in the art to which an invention of this char` acter appertains that I have providedfan improved a.ntiglare attachment which may be applied to all types of head lights without necessitating any change in their construction, one in which the elements are protected by glass on both sides and one which will be very eliicient and practical.
What I claim as my invention is 1. In a device of the character described, a shell adapted to be secured to a head light1 transverse support extending horizontally across the lower portion of the shell, and a plurality of nested curved members of different diameters having their ends secured to the transverse support, said curved members being of a width substantially equal to the width of the shell and having their walls inclined forwardly and downwardly, the distance between adjacent members being Vgradually decreased from their central portions to their ends.
2. In a device of the character described, a shell adapted to be secured to a head light, a transverse support extending horizontally across the lower portion of the shell, a plurality of nested curved members of different diameters having their ends secured to the transverse support, said curved members beof a width substantially equal to the width of the shell and having their walls inclined forwardly and downwardly, the distance between adjacent members being gradually decreased from their'central portions to their ends, and a glass front closing the outer end of the shell.
3. In a device of the character described, the combination with ahead light, a shell adapted to be fitted to the -head light and through which its rays of light extend, a transverse member extending horizontally across the shell at a point medially of its center and lowermost portion, a plurality of nested curved members of different diameters having their ends secured tothe transverse member to receive .support therefrom,
and a glass closing the front of said. shell, the shell, transverse member and nested `rmembers ybeing disposed within the circumference of the head light.
