MACHINE FOR SPREADING ARTIFICIAL MANURE.
Application led .Tune v12, 1926, Serial No. 115,611, and in Germany July 10, 1924,
This invention relates to an iinproveinent in machines :tor spreading artilicial manure,
ot the kind comprising a storage containerv tor the reception ot the manure to be spread Y 3 l. and havingat its bottoni a controllable oinlet slot into which project the distribiiti ge; linger Otan endless chain and its object is to arrange instead ot said chain a laterally adjustable mechanically driven endless rib-4 bon having,l integral means thereon tor a liner distribution and spreading of much bon, and Fig. 5 shows a plan view of part et said latter ribbon.
Referring to Figs. l, 2 and 3 :-'l`he storage container a is, in a Way known in t-he art, arranged between and carried by the guide-Wheels ot the machine, this beingl not illustrated as it is the conventional art.
The endless ribbon Z), preferably oi steel, is so arranged in the longitudinal direction and at the bottoni ot said container that its lower part lies beyond the container While its upper part is located Within the latter upon the bottoni c ot the saine With one edge thereof projecting laterally troni within the container through the outlet slotrl at the bottoni ot the container, said slot being' controlled by an outer slide m in a Way known in the art. The endless ribbon is mechanically driven trom one ot the `unile-Wheels ot' the machine in any appropria-te manner not illustrated. The endless ribbon Z) is either formed like a saWblade at nits edge e projecting' through the outlet slot (Z (F 2), or provided on its Whole length with parallel obliquely directed transverse slots j (Fig. 3), whereby the action ot the endless ribbon is considerably increased.` fis shown in Figs. 1land 5, the endless ribbon can also be located laterally beyond the container i and fitted on its Whole length at one edge with linger-like oblique projections g which at the upper part of the ribbon pass throuah the storage container above the bottoni thereof and project laterally from Within the container through the out'- let slot CZ, the ribbon running' over guidingrollers In this case, the ribbon can also run, instead of horizontally, in vertical or in any; other direction. 'lo avoid a slipping?,l of the ribbon, it can be provided4 at one or both ott its edges with notches z' engaping; over pins 7e on the guiding-rollers 7L. The ribbon b can be laterally shifted by means ot a lrnoWn lever control a, in order to let the lingers g project niore or less deeply through the outlet slot d.
instead oi the horizontal position ot the ribbon Z), or ol' the lingers g respectively, illustrated, parallel to the bottom c ot' the container, the ribbon, or the said lingers respectively, can also run at any appropriate angle ot' inclination tnereto.
In a machine tor spreading manure, the combination With a storage container liaving an outlet slot at its bottom, ot a niechanically driven endless steel ribbon, integral distributing lingers thereon projecting into said container through its outlet slot, j
and a lever control in connection With said ribbon for laterally shitting the latter and 'thereby adjusting said fingers to a incre or less deep engagement in said outlet slot.
ln testimony whereof I have. hereunto se my hand.
