This invention comprises improvements in and connected With hypodermic syringes and needles therefor; Heretofore, when a hypodermic needle has been fixed in the'nipple or nozzle constituting the mount for the needle on the syringe, the said needle has been insertedinto a small bore formed in the mount and has been fixed therein, generally by soldering. One object of these improvements is to provide a more effective and economical method for fixing the needlesin the mounts. 1
Needle head devices machined to have various external formations, have been attached to hypodermic needles by burnishing, swaging and like operation, and the mouth of the bore in such heads has been countersunk. The needle head of these imbprovements, however, is distinguished from these known heads by the fact. that it is forced through a. die for attaching it to the needle and for adapting it forfixing in the needle mounting. v According to this invention, theneedle inserted into the bore of a small cylindrical stamping or. piece of tubing adapted'to form the head and the latter, with the inserted needle, is forced into and through a die which reduces the diameter of the cylindrical piece,
Y and extends its length. The needle mount is formed with atapered socket or hole, a slight taper being sufficient for the cylindrical head to fit into and the'needle isfixed in the mount by forcing the cylindrical head tightly into the tapered hole or socket;
